I already have rca cables, but they're from 2001 when my Camaro got its system installed, so I might upgrade to new ones. If I do, I'll run one of the knukoncepts cables. I have their 1/0 gauge wire and I'm a believer in the company.

To clarify, my goal is to get rid of everything Bose related and start new. However, if it's a huge pain in the ass then I'll do what @redrocket did and run the hybrid system he did.

That's initially what I thought until I started to overthink it. It sounds like any other aftermarket install with RCA cables
Just to clarify, with the Bose system all removed, I will still use the same connector behind my factory radio to connect the cheaper aftermarket harness to except for...
How would you rate the quality and fitment of just the long tubes? I've been debating them from speed engineering but I'm worried about fitment. I don't need the y-pipe.

Absolutely. I figure this is route is less common on Denalis, due to the Bose sounding pretty good, but I always take the most difficult path lol I know there's a way. I've seen Denalis with massive systems, it's just a matter of how. If it mutilates the wiring harness, I'll just go the route...
Thanks for the info! I'm going to dig deeper on what it takes, try to find wiring schematics and such. The issue is my alpine hu only allows for the use of the RCA jacks. It doesn't have any wires for speakers in the harness. I really want to use that headunit. It has high pass/low pass...
So I can use any speaker I want as long as it's 2ohm? Would you use the passive crossover that comes with the component kit?

Interesting. I just cant imagine GM would completely redesign a whole radio harness and connection just for the bose system knowing how cheap they are and like to recycle parts. I'm not entirely opposed to the bose. I like the sound, except the lack of hard hitting bass. I figured it wouldn't be...
A new housing is required. I got the housing from LMC, but the box said eagle eyes on it if I remember correctly. Its an OEM style with the same diffused look on the turn signal portion, just clear not amber. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/ce/full.aspx?Page=66
Bulb wise:
DRL...
I'm going to be running an old ass Phoenix gold 4 channel to most likely 2-way kappas all around. I haven't decided on a mono. I have a Rockford prime that I'm considering, but it would shut off due to being too hot in my Camaro, so I'm mixed about using it again. I'm unsure yet on what way I'll...
From what I hear, the stock lq4 injectors are close to maxed from the factory. A cheap upgrade would be the marine-version 8.1l injectors.
I might be tagging along with my buddies to PRE so they can talk subbie shit. I'm going to have them see if my truck can fit on their awd dyno and if they...
@redrocket what I'd like to know is if the tbss dbw tb is compatable with our trucks or if you can get one of those control box things that make it work. I believe there's more to gain by going with the tbss manifold and the 90mm tb

That's where I start to get lost. When all the Bose stuff is gone, do you still use the same connector that I originally plugged in to the headunit and use one of the cheap generic gm harness to wire in the headunit?
Or deep in the dash is there another connector that connects to what essential...
So Im probably overthinking this and I hate to ask on such a covered topic but I've gone through several pages and I still am confused. I'm building a system for my 02 Denali that will comprise of:
- Aftermarket HU with 3 sets of Pre-outs
- 4 Channel Amp
- Mono Amp
- Sub and box
- New...
I'd only buy one for my camaro since Its going towards more of a track car. They have ones that put out just as much or more cranking amps as our batteries at only 9lbs!
I get my wire at Knukonceptz and my Techflex at wirecare.com
It most likely is. Theres only three or four major battery brands in the US so all name brands and house brands will fall under those 3 or 4 companies. The only difference aside from looks is the grade of lead that is used. From...
I thought I saw one on there at one time but maybe I'm wrong. If you're okay with spending optima kind of money, look at north star batteries. The one for our rigs has the highest cca and reserve capacity I've found to date, without shelling out stupid money for a lithium battery of course...
Honestly, I flathead-style chisel and a hammer haha
I actually have a hydraulic crimper from harbor freight that supposedly supports 1/0 but every ring terminal I've used won't fit. It works great on 4 gauge and smaller. After a couple hits with a chisel I can fit 1/0 if I really want to...
I have my doubts about the mpg too but I read it on gmfs, so I might as well pass on what I read. so far I haven't really noticed a difference except my check engine light is off now and it usually comes right back on after I clear it.
It's a fun project if you're into wiring and making things...
I use these: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/SS01/01411/N0365.oap?ck=Search_N0365_1504401_2529&pt=N0365&ppt=C0005
I dont know how you have your top post mounted but you can run something like this if all you have is a top post. That way it gives you multiple spots to mount things...
In short, it improves the electrical efficiency of your system. You add either 4 or 0 gauge wiring to the following:
- Battery (+) ----> alternator (recommended to put a fusible link between these)
- Battery (-) ----> chassis (I used my bumper support bracket)
- Engine block ----> chassis (I...
Used the leftover 1/0 gauge I had from my camaros battery relocation to do the big three. Used a stinger fuse box off the battery to be safe and wrapped it all in black nylon techflex because lime greens just too much for the Denali lol
So far haven't noticed too much of a difference, but...
Mine does it on my 02 Denali. If all your steering links have been replaced recently and/or are tight, my guess is its an alignment issue. For me, everything is "within spec" but spec has pretty wide tolerances and I have some pretty low offset wheels resulting in my scrub radius being pushed...
