I blame the damn auto correct lol
Damn auto correct. lol. Only thing is with this mod you won't have DRLs. Hmmm. Maybe I was correct to begin with. I like the DRL. Maybe I should throw a pencil to paper and draw it out.

Btw, Here's the 3157s that I had in my silvy, they burnt out in about 6 months 1289322466.jpg

These are the 4114LL, lasted with no problems

F*** I miss that truck :bawl:

Nice looking truck x2 on using the 4114 LED bulbs for the DRL, the ones I used are one of a few actual 4114 LED's so many places try selling u the 3157 saying there the same but there not

Yea it's all preference . I personally don't like the stock drls or location. But I do have a few plans to run different drls later but in different spots. If you wanna keep the drl then yes it's a diode thing. Would need to search for the 4hi or 6hi mod that includes full time drls. But they won't turn off during signals, that part I believe has never been done before, so hey you might just be the first lol

Thanks, drove just as good as it looked. Yeah a lot of places will say 3157 are ok but they're most certainly not lol

It wouldn't be hard to turn off the drl and turn on the signal then reverse it. I'll draw it out and see what I can come up with.

Like @Red Rocket I have full time drl's with bright ass LED's, but I did mine a different way. The way I did it doesn't require anything other then time. I like it because even to a trained eye, nobody can tell how it was done. This method only works for 00-02's. Theres a write up on it on another forum. You can pm me and I'll send you the link, but in short its:

1. open up your fuse box under the hood
2. take off the black surround
3. Theres multiple different colored blocks, Locate the green block and unbolt it
4. locate the royal blue double wire
5. unlock the green block with the blue locking clips to remove the royal double wire
6. drop the royal double wire down one spot (it should be the bottom hole on the green block)
7. re-assemble everything and you're set

This was the first mod I did after I got my denali. I've never had a problem in almost the two years I've owned it and I've never even burnt out a DRL bulb, which is surprising since these trucks are notorious for that.

Damn thats dope, please tell me what is needed exactly to have my denali drl look like yours? Is a new housing required ?

I like how the DRL went off when the signal was on. I was thinking of ways to do the last night with relays etc. if someone has already figured it out Though...lol. I'd rather learn from them. Also where did you get those lights?
What you were seeing was the white LEDs that are a part of the switchback turn signals. The DRLs go off when the headlights are on.

These switchbacks are very bright.

I know. I want these on during the day too and don't want to have to keep turning my parking lights on and off. I'll figure a way to run the whites in the switchbacks as DRLs and the Amber as signals. Do the DRL always on mod and interrupt that circuit when the signal is on. Essentially I'll be using the DRL as the parking light portion. I'll draw it out tonight

A new housing is required. I got the housing from LMC, but the box said eagle eyes on it if I remember correctly. Its an OEM style with the same diffused look on the turn signal portion, just clear not amber. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/ce/full.aspx?Page=66

Bulb wise:
DRL: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DGBTFEG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Swtichback Turn: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3157-3457-3...gnal-type-1-/170944568756?hash=item27cd171db4

I would NOT use those sidemarker LEDs in this application. The are polarity sensitive, so they will not function correctly.

Standard LEDs (polarity sensitive) will only function if the parking lights turned on when using LED turn signals.
I used https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...d-tower-miniature-wedge-retrofit-car/206/923/
They are 194 size bulbs and are amber, but you can get them in white.

These JDM ASTAR swtichbacks (Amazon link) are what I used, and they rival the headlights in brightness:
