I cleaned up the hinges and old nasty caked up grease on the pivot points of those spring loaded arms for the actuator and re greased and installed them.
I also replaced all the foam around the top of the HVAC vent, where the HVAC goes into the floor, and around the new evaporator and I...
Here you go bitchachos. These are basically the rest of the pics that I took during the process. How I took apart the HVAC unit is definitely not the best of most efficient but it worked and I'd know how to do it now. haha.

There was a ton of dirt, leaves, and sticks up against the evaporator. It was atleast %25 clogged up with dirt and no way running at full capacity. I put a whole new blower motor on it also. I'd say it's likely you have something stuck against the blower motor and making the fan tick
What is this thing called and can I buy it individually from Napa? The old part is reusable but Id rather just replace it right now while it's ready to go back on.

There is a small hose outlet on the very top in the middle of the tranmissions that I thought was a breather line but I wanted to make sure. Is that supposed to go...
In case anyone is wondering the tranny lines are 3/8". Ive got it all back together and the only thing left to do is connect the lines and this I've kind of run into an odd problem. Most people wouldnt ask this since they don't cut the tranny lines, but I'm not sure which line goes to which now...
Yea Im going to pick up a double flare tool tomorrow. Anyone know where I can pick up some fittings to join them once I figure out the size? Need the fittings before I flare it. Lol
Anyone know the diameter of the tranny cooler lines? Im going to pick up a flare tool later and would be more comfortable knowing it exactly but I figure any standard fittings for the tool would work
Is it just me or should it still not almost overheat like that even when floored, which I also wouldnt do with your engine conditions. Did you check the coolant levels and oil to see if it looks all milky??
Yea I found a few way back against the firewall but I'll have to look again. Ill be working on it a lot more this weekend and I'll get a bunch of pics for you as it comes out. I should be getting my tranny bolted back up onto it tonight and then work on the dash some more.
Worked on the Tahoe a bunch this morning and having trouble getting the HVAC unit apart. I have taken out all visible little screws, nuts, wire clips, and all wired connects have been taken apart. Also took two bolts out of the engine bay that looked like they couldve held it in place. Does it...
Damn thats a lot of miles on the tranny, not sure I've heard of anyone else having that many without rebuilding it. If its starting have issues you might not want to change the fluid till it dies completely
Once again I spoke too soon. Haha. Had no idea about those tiny little clips, no one mentioned them when I asked about tips for tranny removal. They just came right out so once again I learned how to do something the fun way. Oh well I guess, lesson learned
Yea I pulled the clips but still could not get them and I cut them after I had a good grip with a wrench but it stripped off so I said fuck it. But thanks retorq, thats what I was think but wasnt quite sure
Ok so if we are talking about high mileage here I feel obligated to say we bought our 2000 Toyota landcruiser brand new with 200 miles and it just turn 385,000 miles last week. All completely original. Engine, tranny, AC compressor and everything. We literally have only changed the alternator...
I personally hated the 4x10's but I found it pretty damn easy to cut them out and fit some nice Alpine 6x9 speakers and even an inexpensive set sounds 10x better IMO. The worst part as that nasty foam shit that turns into some kinda of tacky glue substance over the years. Don't get it on...
There are three bolts that hold it in place, two on bottom side of the front of it and then you slide it out and there is one bolt in the back there which you'll need an extension and wobble adapter to get out. then it just slides out
Yea for sure, now is the time to do all that. Btw I ended up cutting the tranny cooler lines since I was having such a ***** of a time getting them loose so do those absolutely have to be replaced or is there a way that I can put connection fittings on them and tie them back together? I cut them...
Cool, I was wondering what else I could replace while I have it all apart. Does anyone sell an actual seal and weatherstipping kit or it is all going to be handformed? And who sells the best general weather stipping to use? I'd like to also get some to redo my rear hatch. But thanks for the info...
I wouldnt be opposed to it but I hate the idea of putting a used tranny in my truck especially if I couldnt tell how many miles were on it. All the parts I got for my 4l60 are beefed up and upgraded so Im anxious to see how it'll feel and pull now. The new tranny will be a huge improvement over...
Ok so out of curiosity what's the most weight that the OBS Hoe is actually safe to tow? Assuming electric brake controller cuz the stock brakes barely even stop the truck itself. Haha. And would putting an extra leaf or air bags increase tow capacity or is it limited by the tranny?
