I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but the reviews here are what have me shopping for an Android head unit for my SSV.
Search the forum here, and then hit Amazon for Tahoe Android, and check out some YouTube reviews. You get a lot for $200=$300.
Constant power, or power when running...?
Finding existing 12 volt back there with the vehicle turned off sounds like a challenge.
(And what are you trying to do? Will this be an night vision camera...:-) )
You can put a meter on the battery when you try to start it and see what it does to get a little more information.
Make sure you are starting out with full voltage, which means the charging system is working and there is not a drain occurring. (The battery can read full voltage but still not...
I thought that people had pretty good luck with the aftermarket ones..?

Neither of your key fobs work now, correct?
My understanding is that you need one working to program another one.
(I am SO GLAD I have an SSV...:) )
A new transmitter can be
programmed to the vehicle when
there is one recognized transmitter.
To program, the vehicle must be off
and all...
I hope you got this by now, but for others researching in the forum...
First step sounds goofy, do your turn signals make noise?
6J3 option has the wiring setup to run the cop radios through the stereo speakers. When I bought mine they left the connectors under the dash unplugged when they...
On that year Tahoe a few of the negatives:
Check for the number of the Castech heads of the one you buy. (a quick Tahoe/Castech google search will show you..)
Brake lines rotted. GM fought the recall for 6 years, second only to the Firestone/Explorer roll over issue. Won by claiming brake lines...
I didn't get mine too long ago, still playing with it. I'm familiar with the switch, but whatever I did everything is working like a civilian's now. :-)
Dome light on and stays on for a while when I get out. (Remote start shows lights too...)
Possible the switches are little iffy?
And of...
160k sounds good. When I had a leak everything told me they go at 80k like clockwork.
I used a little dye and a blacklight to confirm the water pump. (and not a Castech head issue..)

Original compressor? I know they had a TSB for these. With way the compressor was mounted it would collect fluid and have issues on start. They did have a reflash to make the compressor delay start after the motor.
I had a new compressor installed, and learned about filling them when I found...
I just screwed around way more than I should have on the installation of a GoRhino push bar.
What took me longer than it should have to figure out, and why I have extra parts, is that GoRhino assumes the tow hooks are mirrored when they are installed, with two bolts on the inside for the frame...
Not exactly a PPV/SSV only subject, but figure would find more steel rim information here...
I'm looking to just touch up a spot an the grey/silver rims, and want to know what paint matches.
Everywhere I looked people recommend what paint to use to repaint, but no one comes up with the...
Prices of what people are ASKING for stuff in your area mean nothing, you need to see what stuff actually SELLS for.
Put some items in your eBay list and go back later to see what the actual sale price was.
These nuts on Craigslist asking high prices gets people thinking it is realistic. I had...
For 2011 I show:
OnStaR -Not available on Police Package
I don't mean to be one of those guys that answers a different question than what you asked, but...
For the cost of a steering wheel, you are not too far off putting an android head unit in...
I was just looking at these.
It's funny, I'm looking for the most basic feature, FM radio, not all of them have it.
Also, how was the connections? Do they have plug and play adapters available for all cars, are you cutting and splicing, etc?
Thanks
No recall or warranty.
GM knows that they have a common problem, but aren't covering it, just giving their techs information on how to save time fixing known issues that they sold.
There was one Castech head number that is predominate in this issue, but it has been known to occur in a few other...
Look in the glove compartment for the RPO Codes.

A few thoughts from someone with an 02 LT AutoRide (for sale..:) )
I have 80k on the vehicle, the majority of it is in the snow for towing a snowmobile trailer.
Got really P.O.'d at Chevy for a few things, and swore I would buy a non-GM vehicle for the first time in my life.
The brake line...
Yeah, re-read and see where I missed that...
wires for connecting to the grille lamps (GRY,
TAN) and siren speaker (LT BU, LT GN)
Lost those connectors in the deal too...
Not much I can do, paid for the thing expecting to find the wires tucked up as discussed. They cut them without an ounce...
While we are in this area of the wiring...
What else in on the 6J3 plug? We know that that the green with red is the fun one, but what do the other wires in this connector do?
I understand the horn and radio connectors, but not the rest of 6J3 plug.
I know what all the coiled pigtail wires...
How is everyone doing for mileage when towing?
I pull a smaller snowmobile trailer, not a lot of weight but a lot of wind resistance.
I go from 15 mpg to 7 mpg when towing. I can still set the cruise control at 75 mph and run, but it will be shifting and reving on every hill. I keep the speed...
