'02 Hoe -2WD rear seal - can it realistically be done DIY?

Of course your trans was bad. the 4L60E sucks. After the rebuilt where everything has been upgraded, it does work a little better, and the 5.3's if taken care of can easily do around 450-500. I would not replace the seal. I also do not believe in additives to stop leaks until... ATP AT-205...

    Wagner premium rotors & pads

Great to have heard, but its the same as my cousins sisters boy friends girlfriends dog said... Power stop are ok, but they come in different grades. You are also putting slotted rotors on something you really don't need to unless you did what I did, Cold Air, Chipped, Magna Flo and so on...

    Front RH Axle Seal HELP

This is a piece of cake job. First you can buy the axel complete with new CV Joints and boots ready to go. Pretty cheap, think I paid like $50 bucks. 15mm socket and they are off. You will have to remove the socket at the end of the drive shaft, but its easy. You tube it. Now the seals...

Where can I find this part?

Ok, here is what I do for these parts. Go to one of the dealer sites, G m C Direct or something similar where you can put in your vin. Get the GM part #. Then google the part number. A couple of obvious places are Rock Auto, A1A, trying to think of the guys on the west coast, used them for...

Denali and AWD Traction Control. Seems to work more than I would like to..

On my new to me 05' XL Denali, I have noticed that when I go over bumpy roads or intersections, traction control kicks in. It's kind of a drag. Yes I know I can turn it off, but not all that practical. Is that the way they are or is there something I might have to check? Thanks!

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

Ok, finally pulled the codes. Pressure valve. The new pump I put on? Defective. From Dorman. Ordered an Arnott from Best Buy Auto and it was cheaper. Frick a duck!

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

Ok, had a brain fart. Previous owner had a by-pass system put in so there is a Schroeder valve in the bumper and the lines go to both rear shocks. Disconnected the lines, connected the bypass lines and inflates. Could not inflate because the valve on one of the shocks was leaking at the...

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

Interesting. I had to delay my visit to the shop. Looking at replacement shocks, I see that Arnott has premium replacement. They are a little more, but seem to be built better. I have read in the reviews that people are not happy with rebuilt, but thoughts?

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

Well, put the ride height in and still have the service light. My new pump runs for only about 6 seconds, so not worried about burning it out. There is actually a bypass kit installed, dealer put the factory one back on when they put the new pump on. As I have gone around to each shock, I...

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

You think super glue will fix this, lol? New on arrives Tuesday, will the system reset it self or still off to get codes done. Found a shop who has the right snap-on for the codes, not sure about the rest. Hoping you put it in and it is happy. Again, appreciate your help. Went around and...

Obviously this looks like this would be causing a problem. Tried to put it back together but it won't stay. Ordered a new one. Guess we will see.

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

I was for about an hour again. Back to the service error. Put three big guys on the back, should have set the system off, didn't, but brought the error back.

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

Ok, so I took the wheel off, and removed the connections, air connections from the pump and ran it. Only ran 6 seconds. Then I put the old pump on, same thing. I then put the new one back on, making sure the electrical connections were correctly seated. Lowered the truck, pump ran for about...

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

I thought the pump should run for about 15 seconds when the truck starts. The old pump ran for two minutes. This pump 6 seconds.

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

Well, no problem with fuses. Prior to putting in the new A/C, pump was running long periods. Put the new one in, ran for about 7 seconds upon start up. There was service error. It took a day for the service system to appear. I have inspected the rears, even put soapy water on them to see...

    Z 55, it's a four letter word

So just got me a '05 Denali XL. It has a Z55 suspension, and the pump would run on start up for two minutes easy a lot. I never got any messages. So ordered a new pump, threw it in, and great, runs for 6 seconds and stops. Next day after driving all day I get "Service Ride Control" I have...

In the market to buy a Tahoe/Yukon

Rack and pinion? Huh? Let me bring you to the real world of Yuki's and this vintage. The reason we all are here is because GM made a huge error during these years. They built trucks that rarely broke and thus pissed of the dealers. These are pick-up trucks with a different body. I know a...

Rear Air Susp Symptoms - Where to Start?

Did you read the section on the Z 55? Good links and will help a lot. What code are you pulling after it goes off? The compressor is supposed to go on when it starts, so you must be leaking somewhere if its lighting up shortly after pumping.

New Nivomat Shocks but ride not level

Coils. They went out long before the shocks do. I actually put the air bags in the coils, didn't do the compressor, just keep them around 15 psi, it gives the coils a break and it is even steven. 185k. Zippo problems and not that hard to install.
