Yes, I will not take to that dealer for sure who spoke like that. I have scheduled with a selling dealer, so I expect them to help a bit more. All these codes appeared after selling dealer worked on the truck 12 days ago, they reflashed ECM. Now I wonder what they did.
You are spot on, everyone suggests the cables and/or battery. I have called the local dealer, asked them if they would take the truck in and check it, they said "these codes are common and nothing to worry about" we would clear them for you...
It was driving. I have checked the battery connections all seem to be tight. I thought about disconnecting every connection at the body but I will need to figure out which connections and wires to re-tighten.
@swathdiver thank you, I wanted to ask for your help if possible with fuel trim data, I am seeing my LTFT all negative most of the time, I was wondering if the trims are OK or not (logs are here) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EbdAtrKXjTG0ujUXM6MsoTJqLzYeno1C82mWw76OVsE/edit?usp=sharing...
Thank you, I definitely now have electrical problems too B1325, U0415, U0121 were cleared but now vehicle has C0800, it all points that after last service some electrical connections were impacted... On top of my rough idle I now have electrical connections that are impossible to troubleshoot. I...
Interesting observations from last night's 2020 LT 4x4 brand new test drive. Drove the truck for 10 mins at 50+ MPH, came to the stop kept in idle in D and even after a minute in idle look at the idle RPMs - malfunction or ECM still learning?
I went to check 2020 deals last night and had a chance to test drive 2020 LT 4x4. Interestingly enough after 10-12 minutes of road running when I came to a stop in D and engine temp at normal operating the tach stayed at 600-700 RPM even after 1 min of idle in D it never decreased to ~500.
What...
I live in Raleigh RTP North Carolina. Tried all four local dealers and only Medlin GMC in Wilson, NC tried harder. However, 3 of them said that GM does not allow them to troubleshoot further if there are no codes. They are not paying for troubleshooting out of their own money. Per GM truck runs...
Indeed will be on the lookout for 2020 and 2019 deals. You are absolutely right, this truck makes my daily driving so unpleasant that I do not want to get into it to drive. My only other concern is atrocious support from GM and dealers.
This was my experience with 5 more Tahoes and Yukons I have tried recently - smooth as butter cannot detected if it is running. My 2018 is 10K miles and 9 months old is shaking and vibrating in idle all the time. Dealers say “this is how all these trucks are - rough idle is normal” .
Folks with 2019-20 vehicles how would you describe your idle smoothness when you are stopped at the traffic light in Drive (D)? I am having lots of issues with idle on 9-months old 2018 Yukon. Curious if they fixed it in 19-20?
He stored them on the scanner, took photos, cleared them and now wants me to drive for 500 miles and see if any new codes pop up. In 500 miles I have to return to his shop and he will load test the battery and will see if any more codes are popping up on his scanner. If new codes pop up, there...
While dealers said no codes, I met with another local GM mechanic last night, he drives GM trucks himself, he works on them. He tested the truck and found codes, his theory that these codes point to a different problem rather than themselves amperage with battery, ground or something else...
I did speak with BB guys, they are super friendly and keen to help, but they cannot guarantee that this issue will be mitigated with RPM increase, they have never seen this problem ever before and thus they felt that if the misses/hesitation is there even at higher RPM, it will still be there...
I am on second tank of Exxon Premium Synergy + 93. No difference in my case. With that fuel in tank in the morning on a cold start it missed even at 1200-1500 RPMs. I would like to try all options. When you said you cleaned ground, did you mean ECM ground or battery ground or ground wire to body...
I have been watching carefully and documenting when I feel flutter - it happens even when truck sits idle in D or in P or N. In D it is more obvious. It happens during the day with almost no electrical load, with AC off, etc. and in the evening even if I push AC on with lights on. This morning...
Thank you for the links, this is an excellent alternative. I am comfortable with software. Will deep dive.
I was using KOBRA ODB II WiFi adapter with OBD Fusion and Torque Pro on my iPhone.
I may need to ask for wisdom again...
I am reading that misfires in $06 monitor misfires should be zero. I only have OBD Fusion to read $06 but what is the tool that dealer would accept as evidence of misfires? What shall I buy to log misfires to present to the dealer? I posted above their...
Here is the summary of everything that Medlin GMC checked. Hard to fault this dealer, they really tried based on this work order? What do you guys think?
I did 1 full tank of Premium and will try another tank of Exxon Premium on the way to/from VA this weekend. I will drive "hard". I will convince my wife to take the truck to the Blue Ridge Highway if it is not closed for winter, that will give valves some serious workout.
5.3L 6-speed. Exxon Mobil 1 Regular. Two dealers told me explicitly not to use Premium with 2018 5.3L engines. Hendrick and Thompson GMC both told me that. Top Tier but not Premium.
Dealer did check everything according to the work order:
Engine mounts with picoscope
Misfires cold and hot they said they see zero misfires on their equipment
Injectors via afit test are all within 15% of each other
Lugging/engine noise on the acceleration, not heard
Conclusion was - cannot...
Finally found a very honest dealer - Medlin GMC in Wilson, NC, highly recommend them. I know they have tried everything that GM told them to try, it was in the shop for 2 days now, they have tried re-programming the truck, did couple more technical notices on the truck. GM now wants me to drive...
