Much better oil pressure after oil change.

I add maybe a quart between oil changes, which I think is good. It doesn't leak more than a few drops, but I have never heard of an oil leak reducing oil pressure unless the level drops way low to where the pickup is drawing air.

Much better oil pressure after oil change.

That would probably be a good idea. If there is fuel/oil dilution beyond the typical rates, it would definitely show that.

Much better oil pressure after oil change.

I do need to replace the valve cover gaskets anyway, so I may do that soon. It has not been using coolant at all, so I doubt any coolant is getting into the oil. After 5k miles, the oil seems to be in good condition, no sludge, just a bit dark- which I attribute to washing out of old debris from...

    4 wheel drive auto mode

I may not understand the auto 4x4 system well, but waiting for wheel slippage to lock in the front hubs- what could go wrong? LOL! I would not expect auto 4x4 to be reliable and would leave it in 2hi mode until you actually need 4x4.

Much better oil pressure after oil change.

Background: 245k miles, bought neglected, sat a lot and oil was well overdue for changing based on time. Not long after the 1st oil change I had to replace the oil filter again due to oil pressure drop offs. After changing the filter, all was well. I have been using Mobil1 10w30 synthetic and...

    Brake Line Kit Ac Delco

I would advise you to buy rolls of 'easybend' brake line and make them yourself. People has lost half their minds and most of their sanity trying to run the oem brake lines. And they are steel, beasybend is NiCop, so it is rust resistant.

Buying a Truck With a Blown Head Gasket...

When a head gasket has failed, you know there is a reason it did. Usually that will be a cooling system problem that caused the engine to over heat, so expect to have to replace the radiator, water pump and thermostat. That will probably run you about $250 in parts. As to damage to engine-...

    Add on fender flares?

I am considering adding some OM style fender flares. Partial;y for looks but mostly to protect from rocks as I run a lot of gravel roads and dips. Ebay is full of them for around $130/set. Does anyone have any experience with them? recommend a vendor?

    Value on my 06 Z-71

People tend to ask too much for these because they over estimate the condition. Having looked at a number of them recently, I was amazed what I found. people listing their vehicle as very good condition while shocks were blown, water pump leaking, cel on, rust and dents... Not having seen yours...

Back to driving my 2000 Suburban after a bad crash. Pics

Glad you are ok. As to the driveability issues: Given the age of the vehicle, I would expect It may need the whole suspension redone. Tie rods, drag links, pitman arm, control arms, sway bar end links, rear track bar could all be causing your issue. Mine needs control arms currently and the net...

Fuel pump and A/c relay issues

Makes sense to check and try cleaning the contacts. I am thinking I need to look closer at the big connector that comes in from the bottom of the relay center. Maybe loose or corroded connections.

Fuel pump and A/c relay issues

A while back I had a no start condition, swapped the Fuel Pump relay with the DRL relay and all was well for weeks. Then I discovered the A/c relay wasn't kicking in. After messing with it's relay, it kicked in. It seems when the relay is seated all the way, it doesn't connect well. I keep...

Common rust issue everyone needs to check for!

Ziptape is a super sticky tape used for installation of windows and doors to seal the door frame. It seems to last a long time.

Common rust issue everyone needs to check for!

My Hillbilly resealing didn't hold well. Version 2 is using ziptape. That is actually holding really well and I think keep it sealed well over time. I am thinking I can spray undercoating over it to complete the sealing.

    2005 Yukon Overheating

At idle, your engine is only producing a small amount of heat, driving produces more. If your radiator is restricted, it will only have a certain cooling capacity and coolant temp rises. Just put in a new radiator. Cooling fans tend to be an issue when idling/traffic rather than going down the road.

Blower motor doesn't work on speed 1 and 2

Where might the resistor pack be hidden? Manual controls. Also I am noticing that the recirc button keeps going back to fresh air unless I have A/c selected. Is that normal?

Mystery: Z36Powerstop rear brakes excessive inner pad wear after only 4k miles

nagative on the squealers. drag reduction clips are an add on spring that pushes the pads off the rotor. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=3766515&cc=1371620&jsn=628

Mystery: Z36Powerstop rear brakes excessive inner pad wear after only 4k miles

That is what I just did. The pads were definitely too tight in there and dragging despite the added drag reduction clips. Now those clips can actually push the pads off the rotors. Test drive felt good. We shall see in a few K miles, but this story disappoints me in the Powerstop z36 pads. 500...

Mystery: Z36Powerstop rear brakes excessive inner pad wear after only 4k miles

WHen I say the pads are tight in the bracket- I have to pry them out with a screw driver. This is why I am wondering if I have the wrong pad.
