Yeah likely some of that too. But the noise is significantly less with the GM lifters. I have a little noise but its the normal cammed/headered LS engine noise on cold start now.
I don’t recall the part number. It was the drop in lifter that cost less than 200
They just sounded like shit on cold start and took forever to pump up. But this motor definitely has looser than normal lifter bores because I had noise with expensive johnson lifters too
The caddy lifters are...
Can’t even describe how happy I am. I was dding my all out N.A. build c7 all winter this has been sitting since October
Now instead of new truck that money can go into big c7 power
Okay it came in as a permanent code, NOT a current code. That may be the issue. It requires several drive cycles to clear that out you cannot clear it with a computer.
Meaning I probably had it before many times so it stored it as a permanent code and is waiting a bit before it is allowed to clear
I’m so confused lol
This place says they are now black so it’s probably fine

The code went away I’ll continue to monitor
Wanted to update this
I got about 75k on the new motor when it blew a head gasket. I believe it was my fault because I used a roloc disc to clean the decks of the block and heads.
Do not do this! It definitely removes aluminum no matter what the internet says. My block looked horribly...
Fixed!!!!!
I got it buttoned up, did a crank relearn with Hptuners and did like 10 WOT pulls. Zero issues except I hear pinging from probably a lean fuel mixture due to the ported heads. I need to retune it. But I think I am good!
I think the issue was how I routed the starter wire, it had...
Anyone know if I can use any old washer or do I need the gm part?
I haven't seen any GM parts that match this, seems to just come with a new starter. I am just not sure if I can use any old washer or it has to be something specific.
I'll hit up napa tomorrow and see
Found an issue not sure if it’s THE issue. But the wire to the starter was loose. And what I thought was a lock washer appears to just be a broken washer.
Okay I am going out to the truck to replace two of the three red cables. The third cable is the one that runs along the back of the engine bay and into the PCM. That I do not have a replacement for yet
I am thinking all this isn't really related to the crank pos sensor since I got different...
I think you’re onto something
The truck just left me stranded. Completely dead would not turn over. My noco jumper got it started and I made it five miles before it died again. I got all sorts of codes like camshaft position sensor etc. so I don’t think this has any relation to any sensor
I...
Okay so it started doing it with the other battery now. One of the wires must be moving in a way when I swap batteries, causing the issue to go away momentarily. There's a positive wire to the starter, a ground wire, and the crank pos sensor wiring that are bunched up together. I'll inspect...
Update...
Replaced the negative battery terminal/ground cable wire and put back in the *new* battery. As soon as I floored the pedal on my test drive, the car sputtered, tachometer went to 0 and I saw the p0335 code again. I put in my old battery from my C7 corvette, and took it for another...
