    Just a Thought almost sounds like a vacuum leak or low fuel pressure . Maybe spray some carb clean around intake but Get a fire extinguisher close by in case a coil lights off. Just a thought.

    Maybe have battery tested. These trucks do wield things with low voltage. Check battery cables hot and grounds also there are some body grounds like body to rear of drivers side head. Also I think one is behind left front inning fender liner. Some of the other guys probably can give some more...

    Almost sounds like maybe a catalytic converter or maybe a lifter . Hard to say with out hearing it. A long thin screwdriver works well also.

    Thermostat by passes cooler till a predetermined temperature. If you delete it fluid will flow to cooler full time.

    First washing now hone,cam bearings and scrap off what the washer did not get. Then back in the washer. I will final wash with soap water bore brushes and air then oil bores and crank saddles bag and wait on parts.

    No just first one I found on Craig’s list in like 2 minutes. Many to choose from in my area. I have a Snap-on solus but would get a Autel or something besides a Snap-on next time. I was just saying really good scanners can be found used cheap.

    Anytime I have fixed many problems from these forums. Lots of great knowledge and experience from great people. Good luck! But if no one in your area can’t figure it out you can maybe have black bear help you with a flash scan and data log.
