Be more specific. Do you want to remove the transfer case,front axle housing or just don’t engage four wheel drive? But if you get a two wheel drive transmission yes or buy a two wheel drive out put shaft and tail housing and have it installed in your transmission.

And replacing the valve body is not all that hard but they are not cheap. You just can’t put the long bolts in the wrong place it will lockup the gear train!
Clean it really well and drive it for a few miles , then recheck it . If all else fails put dye in it and use a black light to find the leak. Did you check the axle for a groove or any scaring.
Take it to a professional for diagnostics and then go from there. Could be a number issues line pressure, tcc solenoid , tcc valve or maybe pressure control solenoid.
Are you guys loading 87-89 oct? I have not loaded my 91 oct yet! What kind of difference between the tones have you noticed? I would load my 91 but adapts are just now sorted and don’t feel like feeling my transmission slide bump again.
Try to find a wiring diagram and unplug any components on that circuit. If that works start plugging them back in until you find the one that is shorted. If that does not work you will need to track the wiring until you find the shorted wire.
Guys always block tires when jacking up your vehicles no matter 2wd/4wd/awd and jack stands also ,most of these jack are made in China only a rubber seal holding the weight!!!!!

Look at your rebound bumper on upper controlarm if they are close I would lower the right side a half inch. If not close yes turn up left side. If it’s hard to turn jack up on frame to make it easier to turn. If you really want to get trick put weights in drivers seat to adjust ride height. And...
