This is what im trying to figure out! By the way, with your LED switchbacks, what wire did you put the resistor on to stop hyperflash? Is there a tutorial? I've had a set sitting in my garage for a while and my DRL just went out so it's time to rip the front end apart.
Thank you! I got an amazing deal on the set i couldn't pass up.
I really need to get the rear 1" on. It rubs pretty bad on the rear liners in and out of driveways. The fronts don't rub the liners at all but I was really surprised to get some sway bar rub at full lock. I don't know why that's...
Finally got new tires and the front half of the leveling kit on. Removing door molding, Rear lift, and some trimming will happen this upcoming weekend! The tires are 275/60/20 Duratracs. They are surprisingly quiet on the highway but still have an aggressive look.
It is finally time for some new tires! I was about to pull the trigger on a set of Open Country A/Ts but I found a really good deal on the R/T. The more aggressive look and good reviews online are starting to sway me. I am looking at a 285/55/20 after my CCM kit and new shocks are installed...
That is a great price man! Nice find. Did you notice any difference in the shifts with just the servos? I had mine done right around the same time as the Tune so I didn't get to test it out separately.
Aw man that sucks. Hopefully you get it soon. I had issues with the gaskets slipping on the intake tube but some aqua-net hairspray fixed it right up. (an old trick from messing around with turbo cars)
Just in case, Here is a good deal on one on Amazon. Free shipping too...
Very nice install and equipment choices man! I love it. Sometimes I wish I had the extra space behind the rear seats to be able to keep my 3rd row in and run subs.
You are definitely welcome bro. I hope you enjoy the parts as much as I have. That Black Bear tune is the ticket though. Make sure you have a high flow intake on the truck before you have him tune it. I have an Airaid Jr. kit with the dry flow filter. Best bang for your buck.
Here is the 4th gear servo: http://www.oregonperformancetransmission.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=OPTI&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=SUP-K034
I live in the mountains, so my truck is constantly in and out of 4th gear up and down hills. The servo gave me a much stronger/positive shift in and out...
Here is the one I have: http://www.oregonperformancetransmission.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=OPTI&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=NTP-K51828C
I also have the 4th gear hold servo from them. Great upgrades.
So with the CCM kit I need to buy new shocks? The rear shocks need to be 1" longer after I put the spacer in? I have the stock Air ride/self-leveling right now but i'm hearing the compressor run more often and the ride sucks.
I thought so. They look great but there is a $70 difference per tire from 275/60/20's.
Pinstripes and Moldings are real easy with a 3M eraser wheel and some goo gone. Then a good cleaner wax after takes away the shadow from where they were.
Thats probably the best course of action. I do like the Toyo AT2. I think it's between them and the Cooper Zeons. The Duratracs seem to be a crapshoot between good and bad reviews on wear/roadnoise. I really like the more aggressive look of Duratracs or a M/T but I don't want to give up road...
Well you have definitely helped me put the cost into perspective. I am going to just stick with the CCM and 275/60/20's. Either Cooper Zeons, Goodyear Duratracs, or BF Goodrich KO2. Any recommendations?
I didn't even think about how much more weight those extra ply tires would add. MPG is bad enough with my 93 Tune. Looks like a set of 275/60/20s are in my future.
