Need front Wheel bearings (4WD) which ones are good?

Both Summit and rockauto show pictures with the print Made In USA for the Timken SP500301. https://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/xlarge/tmk-sp500301_bd_xl.jpg Interestingly in the Q&A section for Summit, they answered this question 2 years ago, but quickly noted it could change at...

How many miles did you get out of your original Transmission?

214K on my 2011 6l80, when I rebuilt it preemptively. Nothing was wrong and very minor wear on the 3-4-5 frictions, so realistically could have gone another 100K with just a new converter.

    Parking pawl replacement 6l80e

That doesn't mean that the 6L80 doesn't have a parking pawl. The parking pawl is just a device in the transmission to lock the output shaft to the case.

    Fair enough Wes, challenge accepted.

    Parking pawl replacement 6l80e

Just to further clarify, if you have a RWD or AWD vehicle in 'park' on an incline of say 5 degrees, and you jack up the rear end (being one of the either ends in your statement) with a wheeled jack, it is likely going to roll downhill. It is also very dangerous and should not be attempted...

    Parking pawl replacement 6l80e

That is a pretty far out statement. Anyone who jacks up a vehicle without chocking the wheels on an incline or using some other method to restrain the vehicle should not be jacking up vehicles. Anyone who jacks up the drive wheels on a car on an incline expecting transmission park to keep the...

    Parking pawl replacement 6l80e

What??!! Park is just a feature in the transmission to lock the output shaft.

    Parking pawl replacement 6l80e

I have the detent spring removed here for visibility, so you can see the parking pawl engagement rod attached to the shift lever. You need remove the valve body, so that you can access the roll pins on the shifter shaft. One pin holds the shaft in the case and the other holds the internal arm...

The rivet is part of the replacement rod. It should look like this.

    EXHAUST SETUP!

It is important to note that EPA (Federal) compliant and 50-state compliant are not the same. CA has specific requirements, and the 59956 is not legal in CA. You can search for compliance in the CARB catalytic converter database, or much easier just go to magnaflow.com and search based on...

Installing "2021 PPV" style 6-Piston Brembo Front Brakes on a 2007 Yukon Denali

For one, there isn't an extra 1inch of unused rotor surface on the baer rotor. Even a visual estimate shows that the pad surface diameter is smaller than the 3" register in the center. Second, a 15" rotor cannot substitute for a 16".

Installing "2021 PPV" style 6-Piston Brembo Front Brakes on a 2007 Yukon Denali

With floating calipers, the simplest braking power improvement is larger diameter rotors and new caliper brackets to offset match, as Baer has done. The challenge with the PPV fixed calipers is that the caliper cannot be easily relocated, so the rotor has to match. The real grief here is that...

214K 6L80 rebuild before TCC failure

I went with the billet cover CVC BU60FHD that was recommended here. A friend offered a CTS-V converter, but I still chose the CVC. I also did a new pump, slide and spring along with the Sonnax zip kit, which includes several items to help with pump pressure regulation and the TCC specific one...

214K 6L80 rebuild before TCC failure

Thanks for the heads up on the trans oil life monitor! I didn't know that existed. Honestly, I didn't do any diagnostics on the trans yet. I have an Autel and a Tech2, and I'm pretty sure the Tech2 can do the relearn.

Installing "2021 PPV" style 6-Piston Brembo Front Brakes on a 2007 Yukon Denali

An update on the rotors. No idea if any of this is correct. Power stop lists the 2022 PPV rotor as AR82209EVC Their site links to rockauto, and I ordered 2 (listed as in stock), but the order was kicked back. I changed the order to select the GM rotors 84879622 as a replacement, which were...

214K 6L80 rebuild before TCC failure

My new to me 214K mile 2011 Yukon Denali XL had brown transmission fluid, and it seemed like I was on borrowed time after reading lots of info on this forum. It shifted fine, but I figure now is the time to investigate and be proactive, so I pulled the trans. I recommend pre-emptively...

Need help with "Service Vehicle Charging System"

The DIC is from the ECM which compares the input control to the expected output. The ECM is limited to knowing the duty cycle control which it is sending to the alternator and the actual voltage at the ECM. So a fault anywhere in that path between could trigger the DIC message. For the...

    ATF Lacks Cleaning Detergents

Thanks @donjetman ! Your reports are great! Your results with conservative driving matches the other evidence pointing to Dexron6 being more of a 50K fluid than 100K as GM says. Even though GM doesn't call out a min viscosity for the fluid itself, it is included in the durability testing that...

    ATF Lacks Cleaning Detergents

Yes, I was thinking of the LV-ATF version, aka HP. The spec for it is simply titled Low Viscosity ATF https://standards.globalspec.com/std/13112609/GMW16954 The kinematic viscosity specs are the same as Dexron VI, but the LV (aka HP) reduces the Brookfield at -40 from 15,000 to 8,000...

    Chevy Tahoe p0443

If you have trouble filling the tank, it is most likely related to the vent path being blocked. Since the canister is designed to collect the vapors when venting, it is a mandatory pass through. Since the filtering media inside the canister often fails, meaning it doesn't work well for venting...

Diagnostic and Programming tool research - anyone use the Mongoose cable from drewtech / opusvis?

The Mongoose Pro has been highly regarded in the Ford community for a long time and it is the only one that can program certain ECM computers given that it's design is the best being capable of proper flash programming voltage control. The Plus GM3 is the only aftermarket J2534 programmer...

    ATF Lacks Cleaning Detergents

Also I think some of the same dispersants for ATF are also used as 'detergents' for fuel additives. Specific to percentages, the additive licensed for making Dexron-VI (Afton Hitec 3491LV) is recommend as a 10% blend, whereas their additive for Dexron-III is something more like 18%. That...

    ATF Lacks Cleaning Detergents

Dexron-VI is such a tough spec to meet, I think it can only be met with high grade PAO synthetic oil in high quantity. So that typically requires less additive to compensate for thermal decay and oxidation. The additive package for ATF is quite a complex beast. The actual additives generally...

    Parking pawl replacement 6l80e

As @swathdiver said, the actuator rod is probably damaged and can be removed/replaced without pulling the trans, but you may to need to pull the valve body to get access to one of the roll pins. There was an update around 2008 to a stronger rod, so I would upgrade if necessary. The rivet on...
