One thing I miss in the Tahoe that I had in my newer Camry is the built-in bluetooth where I push a button on my steering wheel and have voice-activated calling and am able to answer calls via a button.
I don't listen to music on my phone and only every once in a while, I will listen to...
Ordered an inexpensive knock-off can from Amazon today. The seller/manufacturer had the decency to include in the description-
"Note: The hose that come with baffled oil catch can kit is just a gift for free. It's not a vacuum hose and can't resist high temperature. The smell is also...
Lol, yes. I have Covid brain. Had it 9 months ago and switch things up all the time now, like our/are their/there- never had that issue before; it is getting better but I still miss stuff.
You're preaching to the choir here, buddy haha.
What you have said I have pretty much said to my husband, but the "what ifs" that I always come up with do not concern him as much.
But maybe if it comes from someone else, such as this forum, he will listen ;)
Been married for 22 years and the...
And spark plugs and wires, too. And new wipers and some other stuff.... But, that is dealer prices for you.
That's why I'm needing all the info I need to build a case for hubby to do the catch can and valve cover ;)
Even doing either at home will cost (time n money) and certainly cost more to...
That is my quandry... just purchased it a few months ago from daughter of owner (who passed) and she had no maintenance records to provide. That is why we are flying blind. Looked well cared for. Daughter had a 90k maintenance done before sale (for the tune of $1800!) probably because they...
Luckily, we live an hour away from Yosemite, so when I can convince my husband to get away from his projects at home we go for a drive there.
I notice that when I drive to work it gets up to about a 100 and I'm at work for 3 or 4 hours and it stays little under a 100 when I get back behind the...
Haha, all I do is short trips...my "commute" is about 12-15 miles total a day. Trying to figure out how to get my transmission to temp :/ but that's a different subject.
And, I live in the Sierra Foothills where we regularly get into freezing temps for a couple months in the winter. Low 20s to...
Yes, that was me...probably driven under 1000 since purchasing at 87k (have to check bill of sale to get exact) and seems to not be losing any.
I'm beginning to wonder if original owner did have it done... if the guy wasn't hurting for money and went in for an oil change and was losing oil on...
So based on this thread, if I understand it correctly, since I don't know if my Tahoe has the new valve cover, putting in the catch can MAY help me alleviate some of the damage if it's the old one and/or determine if it is (besides taking it off to look-wish they put something on the new ones...
It was doing the 99+ before deleting. But as AvalonandI already mentioned, it may be just that fuel is cut when coasting. I thought it was odd when I first saw it and thought it was the transition between V4 and V8, but maybe it is just "normal" for my vehicle.
So after deleting AFM and reinstalling ECM, the display stays on V8 but when going downhill or straightaways, it still says 99mpg (like it used to when getting ready to switch to V4). I'm assuming this is because the dash display control doesn't know how to "read" non DOD setup? Anyone else...
He works like a dog most weeks 45-50 plus 2 hrs of commute each day. I hate putting more on his plate.
Hmmm, more research needed on ease of use and accessibility once installed.
So what happens if you don't empty it out when it is full? I hesitate to add more stuff to have to check (i.e. nag my husband to check haha). I can certainly do the "normal" vehicle checks like fluid levels etc, but not sure about the catch can. Will it overflow, or just stop "catching"? Would...
Just got our ECM back yesterday. Hubby plugged it in and now running V8 :)
Now to do catch can AND another modification. Was looking for weaknesses re. prevention of rodent intrusion (vents and cab air filter mostly) and low and behold found out we need to add the cabin air filter door kit and...
Oh I'm so glad one didn't crawl up my leg.
We had a similar experience, though....we went for a drive to just get out of the house and 5 minutes in, out of the corner of my eye, I saw one of the mice run up the back seat so my husband stopped on the side of the highway and was taking out seats...
That sucks! Mice are certainly opportunistic with the pandemic, that's for sure! Unfortunately even with daily driving they still stayed in the vehicle! There was 3 or 4 times that I drove over an hour and I'd stop and a mouse would come running out of my engine and jump down to the parking lot.
The only problem that my husband has had with his last GMC has been exactly what you, and others, have talked about... he had them get into his fuse box and munch a couple wires and so far it's all he's seen in damage. I will see if we can put something in place to keep them out of my vehicle...
