Here I go again. I have tried many, many set ups....BUT I may have a winner. Just installed Hawk LTS pads (used them before and they seem to be the best I have used) and EBC slotted rotors.
Just took it out to bed the brakes in. 6-10 stops from 30, normal braking. Then 3 from 40 hard...
Ok, good to know.
Also curious about why SSBC calls to have the brake lines switched from factory positions when installing there master.

I am very much debating a disc swap in the rear now, not from SSBC though
Here's another one to ponder. The SSBC firm feel master calls to have the brakes lines switched from the factory positions (front to rear, rear to front). Why would that be?

My suburban has the JB6 brakes already. Is it possible that the wrong master is on it?
My Tahoe has the JB5 brakes. Shame on me but I thought the difference was only the drum diameter. Please correct me if I am wrong as this would be a big problem is the MC is incorrect. So is there a...
Thanks guys. Would the master off a 2500 with the JB7 brakes fit? They are set up for disc / drum right? Just larger calipers and rear wheel cylinders?
Mike can you tell me more about the bleeding process you used that seemed to help?
New pads and rotors are here. It's raining, so later...
No problem, confusion happens
Yeah or even just adding a proportioning valve on the rear line.
I see many guys getting into trouble when swapping for larger calipers and things like that too. So many mixed reviews out there. I started yet another thread that people will hopefully just post...
Ok fellow GMT 400 owners. I want to start yet another thread about the infamous master cylinder swap / upgrade / downgrade whatever you want to call it. I would like to keep back and forth arguing out of this, no one needs to read through that crap.
What I'd like to accomplish is some...
You disagree with my statement about the SSBC Firm Feel Master Cylinder , Part number A0463 is the same at the NBS Master Cylinder? Or that I want to try to increase the brake pressure and see what it yields? This is a not a daily driver anymore so to try altering the brakes just takes some...
I have been debating the Firm feel SSBC master cylinder for many, many years now. Which we all seem to agree is a NBS master with the larger bore. I need a little more brake pressure on the burb. I am very tempted to try this swap ASAP....
My guess is a bad ABS sensor on one of the front wheels. The noise is most likely the ABS pump cycling.
What happens is that the brakes fail safe is non ABS operation. Meaning when a component fails, the ABS system turns off giving you brakes again. Our trucks have crappy brakes as it is...
With the shorter wheel base of the 2 doors Donnie is correct. Another issue is the shaft is short and the driveline angle gets steep quick. My rear shaft needed an extra inch added in but I took the opportunity to add a rear CV shaft from Tom Woods. Front shaft was ok.
