E Rated tire psi for 1/2ton

50 psi rides well, thanks as always to wisdom and experience of the OBS crew.

That $30 sensor has caused me to nearly replace distributor a 2nd time, and think my transmission was about to explode and fuel pump was failing. It’s on my shelf in the garage so I can swear at it when things aren’t going right. Kinda like the voodoo doll of my truck. FWIW, I used 1 spacer at...

E Rated tire psi for 1/2ton

80 under load Neighbor with a 2500 diesel runs his E’s @ 50 unloaded. By the specs 23-ish is about right for 1,700 per tire (based on factory #s). It rides well @ 30, 35 was harsh but they were brand new and feel better now with a couple hundred miles on them. I don’t wanna kill them, but I...

I can tell you symptoms of bad crank sensor/harness from experience: Sensor reading bad:No start. No spark. Will crank. No code. Sensor dead/unplugged: no crank at all. sporadic issue: runs REALLY bad and dies over 20mph. Throws code (1309 maybe?) if you have a spark, probably not your...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Replaced some blown speakers with some Crutchfield clearance Kickers. Much better even with stock HU. Gotta love the plug and play freebies. Troubleshooting ignition system...driving much better now even with cheap AT e-rated tires. Not my favorites but practically free.

    3 O2 Sensors on 1999 Tahoe?

That’s got to be frustrating. I can’t see why someone would remove 1 and leave 3 intentionally

How does it run? Distributor gear at 115k miles seems highly unlikely to me. Have you done the spider injector swap yet? I’ve had a 0305 lately and ran a can of Seafoam in a nearly empty tank and it went from better to gone in under 50 miles. And don’t toss that distributor out.

I’m gonna pull the other bank and double check the wires and gaps next week. It’s better but not perfect, occasional misfires at idle when hot. Barely detectable in the seat but the scanner showed 6 over a couple minutes. I’ve got the conventional R44LTS6 plugs on stand by.

    3 O2 Sensors on 1999 Tahoe?

I have 4 and it feels like the connector comes from a T right above the transmission output shaft. Connector is above transfer case right where you are looking for it. Less than a foot from where the sensor is. My best guess is that they are part of the bundle on the passenger frame by the...

Pulled #5 it was clean but a hair over .060 where’s 1,3,7 were all .040 Also have a tick on passenger side, #2 wire was the culprit.had a bit of play in the wire but stuck to plug. Removed and reseated, no more tick. Tapped #5 down to .040, moved it to 1and took a nice drive. Babied up to 85...

A black bear tune is on the wishlist but I feel it would be better to get ignition sorted first. Fairly certain I installed LS generation plugs on a Vortec. I’ll have new plugs in Sunday, weather permitting. At the very least I’m going to pull a couple for eyeball inspection.

If it comes back I’ll try some platinums at .060 and re-test. Googling this a couple months ago when I did the work on the intake it seems like the confusion started around 2010 and much back and forth on 40 or 60.

That has added to my confusion as supposedly GM changed the spec on the iridium plug for these to .040. They were all gapped the same when I received them, had also read not to change gaps on iridium plugs. These are the plugs I used: ACDelco 41-993 Professional Iridium Spark Plug (Pack of 4)...

I’m really tempted to re-install my Delco ICM and coil. Has anyone tried the Davis Unified “performance” coil? Longer spark dwell is what they advertise. ETA: I moved the distributor lower on the list to check as it happens only at high speed. Issue did not follow RPMs.
