    Pic 305/55 r20's z71 tahoe w/ a 2" RC lift (RUB)

What is your current backspacing and offset? You have the Z71 trim so it will be different. You will probably need to trim the front lower valence about 2 inches and zip tie the wheel well liner. See the red line cut below. If you are going higher, keep in mind that a body lift will...

Air Ride leveling kit front & rear?

If you switch out the autoride strut/shocks (replace with quicklift and 9000xl) you will lose the auto level function.

General questions for a lifted z71

First of all welcome to the site. Since you have an NBS Tahoe, check out the pre-2007 section. Once there search because there is a lot of info. Just my opinion. - If gas mileage is a main concern do not lift the truck and put bigger tires. It will drop significantly with the mods you...

Need help with my 4x4 tahoe..

What are the lift mods on your truck? Looks good. What do you mean by holding the brakes and trying to spin the tires? Are you doing a brake stand? Do you hear a grinding sound when you do this or when driving normally? I just have to ask, how do you know 4hi/low does not engage?

    2007 off road tahoe

Cool, keep posing pics. Expedition rig in the Rockies, it's going to be a tight squeeze through those trails! IMO higher clearance front/rear bumpers, winch, and at least a rear locker is a must to navigate those trails. Also do you have one of those expedition trailers? BTW where in the...

    New Guy

Try the 2006- section since you have an NBS (new body style) Tahoe. This is the NNBS section. The NBS uses torsion bars up front, and the NNBS uses struts. You will need after market torsion keys and rear spacer to fit 295s (also depends on the height).

    Trans slipping??

Good to hear that the fluid changes/lube did the trick. Sounds like the 60k (or is that 50k) service was not completed. Brake fluid and coolant should also be changed (check the manual and also inspect the fluids).

Installing full set of Shocks 2008 LT2

Should be a piece of cake for you then. If the springs are in good shape and he wants to stay stock then resuse them. If he likes the ride as is, then go OEM (Bilsteins are a good option - just read the specs to maintain stock ride). Hopefully others with street focused rigs will chime in.

Installing full set of Shocks 2008 LT2

Is he stock, lowered, lifted? What are his expectations and budget? Assuming the existing coils will be reused, a spring compressor is needed. Do you have someone that can show you how to properly use it? You can get serverly injured if it is not used correctly.

    Trans slipping??

IMO if you are not driving in conditions where traction may be an issue, 2WD drive mode should be used. At a minimum, it would save wear on the transfer case and reduce fuel consumption. If you are doing a tight turn on dry pavement it might engage 4HI with a potential to bind the drive train.

    Power folding mirrors not working

Same problem. They do not sell the motor seperately. First check if the connection is still solid. Then check if there is power to the motor. If not, the motor is probably dead and you need to replace the mirror arm.

    Magnaflow muffler options

Do you have an x-pipe to balance the exhuast pulses? Also what size piping did you use? If the piping is too big for the flow, it will be turbulent and not efficient (potential loss in performance and degradation in sound).

    Trans slipping??

So you drive around in Auto mode most of the time? The transfer case should be a chain driven type (NPXXX) so I cannot see where the slip would be. It could be another sensor that is sensing slip and trying to allocate power to the front wheels, and that transition seems like slip. I will...

    Water fording depth?

I do not think there is a published water fording depth for Tahoes. IMO take a look at the door seals and see if you trust those to keep out water. In any case, like Brian indicated above look at intake, diff breather tubes, electronic sensors, etc. that cannot be submerged and that would at...

    Tire psi question

Perform the chalk test to determine the best pressure for even tire wear. The adjust for your ride preference. This also depends on the load rating of your tire and if you carry or tow heavy loads. FYI I have 285/65/18 Nitto Trail Grapplers Load E and run them around 50 psi.

Have developed a rough idle. Cause/Fix?

Is there a difference between the ambient temperatures when you experienced pinging versus no pinging? Since it is the season for cooler temperatures, the relatively denser air changes the air/fuel mixture which may reduce/eliminate pinging.

My car after lifting with photos+ I need a help

Also post a review of that kit especially offroad. IMO you will need longer travel struts and/or shocks. I know with my level kit I top out often when going offroad along very uneven surfaces. Bilstein makes longer travel shocks (5100s) but from the reviews they sound too soft. But make...
