One of my friends has a 2008 LT2 that the front strut reservoirs are leaking. he wants to go ahead and install all four.

what is a good set of shocks for him to run?

how difficult are these to install?

is there anything i need to know before getting into it?

does anybody have a downloadable service manual for 2008's?

thanks in advance.

Assuming he has "Autoride" (at least all '09+ LTZs do, and I'll assume the '08s did as well), then I think he may need to replace them with oem autoride shock. Otherwise, without the ability to reattach the sensors that go to each shock (not to mention the air lines to the rear ones), I have read that you'll throw suspension warning lights, etc.

I hope someone else will chime in add pick up where I left off (or correct me altogether).

Is he stock, lowered, lifted? What are his expectations and budget?

Assuming the existing coils will be reused, a spring compressor is needed. Do you have someone that can show you how to properly use it? You can get serverly injured if it is not used correctly.

he doesn't really have one. i told him it would probably be about $500 but this website is looking promising for Bilsteins

he is stock height and we are wanting to re use the springs. good idea or bad idea?

Should be a piece of cake for you then. If the springs are in good shape and he wants to stay stock then resuse them. If he likes the ride as is, then go OEM (Bilsteins are a good option - just read the specs to maintain stock ride).

Hopefully others with street focused rigs will chime in.
