I have little experience with these items. Not seeing how they would coincide or work against braking.
However! I have since called my insurance company. There may be major structural damage unseen at play here (I.e cracked frame, broken engine mount or suspension pivot point). Point being...I...
Understood. The really odd thing about this behavior is the lack of similar cases when performing a Google search. It's almost as if my symptoms are unique.
Something that may be of use....I was in an accident 5 years ago. I pulled into the right lane and a minivan hit my right wheel and...
Alignment was just done. I had Discount Tire put on Michelin LT tires last year. They are inflated to 55 psi. Vehicle drives straight all over town and on highway. I need to make it clear that the vehicle only pulls when braking. I'm thinking maybe air in or near the master cylinder, boost pump...
My 2005 Tahoe LT 4x4 seems possessed. Does anyone know what would cause the vehicle to pull randomly to either side when braking only? I realize that the primary cause is usually a bad caliper but if it randomly pulls to the left or right...what would that be caused by? It's very odd behavior...
Odd...for some reason (maybe not?) The hour meter in the DIC shows 8 hours. It used to show around 1560 or some other bigger number (supposedly legit). Anyone know what happened here? Is my PCM overwritten?.
One of my colleagues at work has a Cadillac . 2007 model I believe. He says it is the best ride so far for him. He previously drove Tahoe's and Yukon's. My question is this. Can the Cadillac provide a ride experience better than the Auto-ride suspension which is found in the LT Tahoe's or...
I checked them. If that was the problem there would have to be a wire or something shorting out the contacts inside the holder. I am going to keep an eye on it and see if the problem resurfaces going over bumps and such.
So everything seems to be ok now. What i did was disconnect the left rear taillight, the front left turn signal and the trailer connector. No water or corrosion found.
Since it seems this is an intermittent issue...there must be a wire rubbing on metal somewhere. When disconnecting the...
Was wondering if someone can lead me looking in the right area for this issue? I know this has come up many times before by searching...just didn't want to hijack any prior threads. Also, the answers to each left turn fuse issue seems to be slightly different.
I keep replacing the 10 amp left...
You can replace most of the parts yourself minus the valve guides and valve seats. If the guides are worn (you can check that yourself) they will need to be pressed out, new ones pressed in and then trimmed. All done by a machine shop.
The head does not need to be resurfaced unless it is out...
Just got a replacement OE GM pump. I think i may have found the issue. Take a look at the following pics. It shows a recessed machined area where the bracket meets the pump. I think this is the problem I am facing. I will have to investigate a bit further on this but it could end up being the...
The cheapest way is to just to lap the valves. Especially if all you have is buildup on the faces and seats and the guides check out. Stick the valves in some clr for a few minutes and the deposits come right off with a wire wheel. You will also need lifter trays, new lifters, updated GM valve...
Speaking of the hydroboost unit...I know it gets fluid pressure from the P/S pump. My power steering seems to be way low on assist for as long as I can remember. Parking lot steering maneuvers require both hands trying to turn the wheel. When backing up it definitely isn't a one hand on the...
Yeah, I was thinking it could be the hydroboost as well. I am going to check the service manual again and see if there is a well defined procedure. Would hate to replace the hydroboost without any proof it really is bad. I also thought about attempting a rebuild instead. I have seen kits on...
Ok. So geographically speaking... you are on the west side of the Sierra Nevada mtns? Correct? Isn't that a relatively stable/ temperate climate in comparison to the wide range of winter and summer temps seen in the Midwest? Perhaps I am missing something. I would think people over here would be...
I was looking at the date on my battery the other day. It's a Duracell AGM 34/78 from Sam's club bought in 2013. Just wondering if replacing an AGM at 5 years is prudent? I have read that AGM's last twice as long (10 years?) than a normal flooded lead acid battery. Just looking for opinions on...
Just changed the old rusty factory calipers a few years ago. Preemptive maintenance is my motto. I suppose both the replacements could still be bad. It wouldn't be the first time an overseas re-manufactured caliper wasn't properly gone through. However having two bad ones seems remote from my...
I'll check again but im pretty sure it's not a leaky/bad master cylinder. The pedal is rock solid and holds its height. Will check lines at calipers again. I saw something about checking the brake pressure with a guage at the caliper. I might do that.
I'm trying to troubleshoot it like a vacuum boost to simplify things. If the pedal feels the same with engine running and also when putting in neutral and turning engine off then I would think pressure related.
As of late my truck seems to be gettting harder to stop. When coming to a stop light it feels like i am going to glide right into the back of the car in front if me. In other words it seems as if I need to press the brake pedal much harder (lack of boost?) than normal. The brakes feel like they...
