    Suburban third row cargo dimensions

Well, I'm not sure where the 'growth' claim came from because those are pretty close to the same dimensions in my XL. I have the GM cargo liner, so that may be a half inch or so, and it's not really squared off, but I have no idea how they came up with that 19% figure. Maybe with the third row...

    Chip/scratch prevention preferred method?

I recommend a clear wrap. I used the 3M brand (top of their line, forget what they called it.) Put it on three days after I picked up the Denali. That was 9 months ago and no visible damage to anything so far. As mentioned, however, the wrap won't stop a serious chunk of rock. I used the...

Dealer(s) selling at MSRP in Southeast US?

I recommend Jimmy Smith Buick/GMC in Cullman, AL. Small town dealer, but they're halfway between Huntsville and Birmingham, so they get enough business from those of us who got tired of trying to deal with the bigger dealers in the cities. They had enough volume to get me an allocation for my...

    noob diesel questions

Nope. That's one of the reasons i don't pay any attention to it. If it were really critical, GM would at least provide some form of signal so you'd know when it's entered the cycle. I can usually tell by the sound of the exhaust but that's the only indication you get.

    Escalade Forum Section.

I like it as is, but no biggie either way. My sensing is the Esky just adds a few more bells and whistles on the way from base Tahoe on up. Also don't see as many Esky owners being "car guys" like most of us tend to be who want to discuss maintenance and troubleshooting or mud flaps or...

    noob diesel questions

There will be various advice. All free. Here's mine: 1. Use only Diesel #2. It gets blended for the season wherever you buy it. #1 is for extreme cold (think Prudhoe Bay). As for Bio, I think the limit is B10 for the 3.0. It's in the manual. It's not available in my area and I don't...

    D max and tire size??

Is that in the regular owners manual or the smaller diesel supplement to the manual? I don't remember seeing that. Either way it sounds more like a CYA legal statement than anything else. The only caveat is that some dealers will look for any excuse not to cover warranty items. "See there...

    Engine Heater and Cord

Mine was in the rear deck compartment as well. Don't know if that's standard procedure or if it's just up to the assembly line to toss it in wherever they want.

    Sliding front console constraints

Nope. I wanted the lockbox, so I skipped the sliding gimmick and had the dealer install the safe when i picked up the vehicle. No regret.

Can Additional Manufacture Options/Packages Be Added To A New Vehicle At A Dealership Before Purchasing?

Interesting discussion. Can dealers add factory options? For purely mechanical things, maybe. If it has any electronic component, probably not. Even on my 05 HD I've had to replace the door/mirror/window switch assembly twice. Each time the switch had to be programmed with a Tech II. Cost...

9111 miles.. here I sit at dealer 500 miles from home

Wow, what a saga. Glad to hear this may get cleared up soon. You've certainly earned some consideration from GM. I like my Dmax, but if I'd been through what you have? Dunno. Hopefully the next one will give better service.

“Heater Performance Mode Active” Message / Extreme Cold Outside

The Dmax has a valve to prioritize warm-up. Has something like that been added to the gassers?

    Fool me twice?

Well, I have the combo you're considering, and all I can say is that I've had zero issues with mine after eight months. No failure to start, no smells, zilch. That could change tomorrow I suppose, but so far I love it. I find it quite comfortable w/o air ride. Cruises quietly at any speed...

    2022 RSE Apps

Don't know about the 22's, but on my 21 model I had to try a couple different apps to get one that would mirror my S21+. I remember X-cast wouldn't work, but Screen Mirroring did. Try experimenting a little. Couldn't hurt.

    USB not recognized

Yeah, what Micahsd said. Don't know about the 22's, but on my 21 I never got a FAT32 to work either. FAT16 was the only thing it would recognize.

    Rusty Wheel Locks

Bummer. A little bit of rust certainly draws the eye right to that spot. Are you in the rust belt? I've not seen that on new locks. Maybe a touch of naval jelly would get rid of that, at least for a while. I passed on the GM locks when I saw the price. Figured I'd get a set of McGard's...

    0-20w oil

I haven't, and not sure why you'd want to. As long as the oil specified is available, what's to be gained by using something else? Decades ago, we'd switch oils to whatever marketing schtick was prevalent, particularly if it claimed to be "racing" or "High Performance" or whatever. Those days...

2021 Denali DMax, 5k mile driving review comparing with ecoDiesel

I had the first oil change at 3500 miles and the dealer topped off the DEF. It was down two bars at the time, so must have been between two and three gallons to refill. Rough guess, a gallon per 1200 or so miles. No towing involved.

    Considering Diesel

Unless you're towing most of the time, you won't use enough to make its cost even a minor factor.

    Diesel and city driving?

I use mine about the way you say you will. No problems yet and I'm not worried about it. Seems like every week or so there is a longer drive required for one thing or the other. The 3.0 is very different from the 6.6 in my pickup and I'm not at all convinced advice relevant to the Silverado...

    Suburban LS base model diesel

I hope the order goes well for you. Yes, the Dmax will certainly be more rare and not necessarily because buyer's didn't want them. When i couldn't find one, i asked my dealer about getting one. They said they hadn't ordered any, and didn't plan to. Fortunately, they were willing to use an...

Have 5k miles on my new 2021 Tahoe with Bridgestone 22” tires. Have rear end vibration. Wheels have been road force balanced three times. Suggestions?

Had one sort of like this once. My tire guy tried a rebalance with no change. Then he dismounted the tire from the wheel and turned it 180 degrees, reseated the bead, balanced it and no more vibration. Don't know if that will work for you, but it would be cheaper than new tires. (Although +1...

Yukon Denali Duramax - Is it slow?

This has been addressed in other threads, but yeah, pretty much what CTown said. If you're still young and coming from a high performance perspective, pass on the 3.0. I too, have been through my HP years with Z28, Z car, Porsche, SS, G8 GT, plus others. Loved them all. Even the 6.2 wouldn't...

Anyone else having intermittent wireless CarPlay issues?

When I first set up Android Auto, it just wouldn't do it using BT. When I tried with a cable, it worked fine, and following that the BT connection also worked. Haven't had an issue with it since, other than when I'm using the wireless charger and the wife's Android phone is on the cable...

Possible Engine Wire Harness Chafing on Some 21’s

That's a good find. Thanks for sharing. I'll check mine and probably add some heater hose around the suspect harness locations. I know on my 05 Dmax there are a couple of locations that were infamous for causing all kinds of gremlins to pop up. An ounce of chafe protection is worth a pound...
