The engine knock you hear when the engine is cold and then goes away completely when it warms up is normal for these engines. Something about piston slap and cylinder walls. I read a GM service bulletin about it. I can't find the site I read it on a while ago but this forum does a good job of...
On my 2004 Yukon there are already holes for the two brackets on the bottom. If I ever found some cladding for back there I was just going to try and use those two bottom brackets and some double sided mounting tape. Oh and mine is basically a Z71 but GMC form. It has the same suspension and...
Can't wait to see the finished results! If you don't mind me asking, what'd it cost ya to color match those parts? I'd like to dechrome mine.

Oh and now they're posted... Haha
I completely agree with you on the XL's size. I have a regular Yukon myself (originally was going to get an XL) and parking in my campus's parking spots feels like I'm driving an H1 Hummer. Now I'm glad I didn't go with the XL. I can't even imagine that long of a vehicle in these tiny ass spots...
Based on what I've read, either you get a good one or you don't, it's hit and miss, luck of the draw - you get it. So I'd just go with the one you want. Any car is going to have problems eventually. There's no way to predict what will go wrong. And with a warranty with the first 100,000 miles...
Hold up... you're saying those controls are supposed to have backlights in the buttons?? Mine have been burnt out since I got it I guess. What year is yours?
Are you serious about this? At first I thought "you have to be kidding" about the V6 (I'm assuming you're talking about EcoBoost) and then I thought about it. That'd be pretty sweet to have that much power in our trucks. I've driven my dad's EcoBoost before and it'll get up to interstate speed...
Yeah mine shows the same message and the T/C light (which is probably why everyone is always so confused!). I know my traction control always stays on though because when I slide around an icy corner and stay on the gas trying to do a longer slide I can hear and feel the traction kick in. This...
Mine does this occasionally as well. Not sure what it is. Are you sure you can turn your traction control system off? And not just the stability system? My 04 will only disable the stability when I hit the stabilitrak button. They're two different things.
When I got my 2004 Yukon with a third row seat none of the levers would move so I spray all the hinge points with WD-40 then it worked great. I think I also did the same thing you've done where the seat is kind of stuck. I think I just started pulling levers and rocking the seat forward to get...
Hey guys I was wondering if you coul help me out. I have an isimple gateway with the bluetooth module installed in my 2004 Yukon. It's worked great for a few months but yesterday when I switched the radio over to the bluetooth option the screen on the radio said "not available". I can't connect...
Well over night I left the battery disconnected and then this morning I found a couple grounds along the frame underneath the driver and cleaned them up. It looked like they had paint underneath them and there wasn't much metal on metal contact. This afternoon I did some driving and it was like...
Okay I'll look around for them first thing tomorrow! Should I try and clean up under the bolts with a grinder so they have a good clean connection? I appreciate the help!
Hi,
My 2004 Yukon has done this twice now in the 15 months I've owned it. While driving each instrument cluster (like the radio, HVAC, rear view mirror, window and door controls and others) start turning their lights on and off intermittently. While this is all going on I start getting messages...
