That would be cool if they are in fact a direct swap. However, I know the HD grills are subtly different. The corners are more squared off and they have less horizontal bars and the bars are thicker. See the picture below.
Does anyone know if the 03-06 Sierra HD grills are a direct swap to a 2004 GMC Yukon with stock hood and bumper? I'm not finding a definite answer for the Yukons and you guys seem to know more about these swaps than I do.
Does anyone know where to find information about what to do when you turn on the second seat heater and it cancels out both heaters if the first was already on?
I've read it's the sensor in the door latch mechanism. Someone on here told me I could try spraying WD-40 in it but I never got around to it. My front passenger side does it a lot. Curious to see what others say.
Oh I agree, it sucks. However it makes sense because the supply has dropped dramatically making them shoot up in value as they become more and more scarce.
I came across most of those as well. Did you see they're all out of stock though except for the last one? The last one I'm just unsure about.
That's what I thought as well although I was thinking longer than that.
Holy shit what'd you search for to find that on Amazon?? $44 is reasonable...
Yeah I would consider getting the new style but I don't know how the original paint will look on the other side under the badge... Or maybe I'll just leave that side alone for now and wait to get backed into that side next.
Part number: 15036137
The square ones are from older models I believe. I don't want the autoride ones. Nothing listed for ones that don't say autoride?
Why the hell would they be discontinued??
Well painting it would just turn it into a solid little bubble thing. They took the current one off to repaint the C pillar and damaged it in a couple places.
My body shop and I are having a hard time finding an SLT badge for my 2004 Yukon. They reused my old one (Which looks like crap) and told me they couldn't find one because it was discontinued. I figured they were just lazy and didn't know what they were talking about. Turns out they were right...
So does this mean when you manually turn off the AC it's not actually off? I've always suspected that because even in the hottest months in the summer I almost never have to hit the snowflake to turn it on. It gets plenty cool without it.
Reading threads like this really makes me appreciate not living in a big-government state. Not that there's anything wrong with mine currently but I can't even imagine being forced to have my vehicle inspected. Hopefully you'll get through the emissions testing now.
Well it only covers up to $60 an hour for labor. I realize that's usually not a lot however, the place I had it done at charges $75 an hour. Still a good deal I think.
I expect to easily get 200k from this engine. The original one made it to 206k with zero issues whatsoever until I discovered the infamous cracked heads.
I don't mind sharing. After the core return the reman engine cost $2500, shipping included for both ways. It has a 3 year/100k mile warranty...
UPDATE: I had an engine swapped in and it's finally back up and running better than ever! I want to thank each and every one of you that helped guide me through this. I would've been completely lost without you guys.
The engine is a remanufactured 5.3L by ATK. I've driven it for about 300 miles...
Thanks for the very long and detailed response! You obviously know what you're talking about. I'll just stick to the stock manifolds. I'm not totally committed to new headers, just thought it would be a good time to do it.
I did and he was no help.
So would I be better off with the stock manifolds then? Do the stock heat shields really make that big of a difference? I'm having the engine replaced soon and thought it would be a good time to get new headers too. The rest of the exhaust is newer.
