Tire pressure monitor error and fob not working at the same time?

Remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) module is used for the remote fobs as well as the TPMS sensors. It is located in the drivers rear quarter panel behind the rear wheel well. I would suggest having someone with a Tech 2 or equivalent type scanner check the module.

The Tech 2 always resets it to 3%. That is normal.

Kbuskill's 2008 Burb LTZ "MOD" Thread

Installed new on 1/30/21. Not sure what caused the failure, they didn't appear to be dry rotted or anything. The new Arnott bags are bigger in diameter and a tapered design. They are really close to frame rail and when you bounce the truck up and down they do make contact with the inner frame...

Kbuskill's 2008 Burb LTZ "MOD" Thread

Had Trailblazer SS air bag pop in the passenger rear last Wednesday. Thankfully we weren't too far from home when it happened. Pulled the ALC fuse and had my son jack up the back end to verify our suspicion. Put vice grips on the air line feeding the passenger bag and stuck fuse back in to let...

2015 Tahoe LT aftermarket radio install help needed!

The one I used was the Idatalink Maestro RR, they have an RR2 out now as well, not a lot of difference between them and if you have no use for the additional features then there is no need to pay for them. You will need to get whatever adapter harnesses that fit your truck. As mentioned, I have...

    Do Amplifiers Wear Out?

If it has the center dash speaker then it should be the "LUX" amp. This was not an option on my '08 LTZ Burb.

    Useless Information

Was just going to say this.... Mix up some baking soda and water in a spray bottle and just coat EVERYTHING, especially down inside the fenders and anywhere it could have gotten between layers of metal.

    Do Amplifiers Wear Out?

Just be sure to pay attention to the Ohm rating of the factory Bose speakers if you are going with aftermarket. I replaced mine with Infinity speakers and they sound awesome on the factory "dumb" Bose amp. I can ride down the interstate at 80 mph with the windows down and crank the radio up and...

    Do Amplifiers Wear Out?

You would be absolutely shocked at what changing the headunit will do for the bass output of the factory Bose sub. My '08 sounded very flat with the stock Navigation HU. I first installed a Rosen HU, which is a dealer installed upgrade and it was night and day difference. I had problems with...

Complex Electrical Nightmare - BCM? ECM? Short?

Check all your fuses. The fuse for the cigarette lighter also powers up the OBD2 port.

Yes, this one bolted right in without any issues or modifications needed. They still have not put a restrictor into the small upper port that goes to the surge tank however. I just removed the restrictor I made from the first one and reinstalled it into the replacement. Easy Peasy.

Kbuskill's 2008 Burb LTZ "MOD" Thread

It has been quite a while since I have updated this thread. I tried to get some decent pics of this mod but it is extremely difficult due to LEDs being so bright. How many of you old timers remember Blue Dot tail lights??? I have always been a sucker for old school stuff, born in the wrong...

Kbuskill's 2008 Burb LTZ "MOD" Thread

I ended up getting a warranty replacement for the original and it indeed has been updated and the new one bolted right in without any modifications. I did notice that the core on the newer version is not quite as thick as the original version as seen in this pic... Original design on top...

Growing up doesn't have to suck

Nice alternator but that is the 4 pin version and is not compatible with the 2 pin computer controlled version the GMT900s use, unfortunately.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

I see, so what is the correct part number that bolts right up? And what does it come off of? I'm guessing maybe a 3500 Silvy?

Growing up doesn't have to suck

I guess I missed it, what is this alternator off of? What is your intention with the clutch? And I assume this is higher amperage or else you wouldn't be fooling around with it.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

Slight update, the P1174 code, that I was getting every time the truck was driven, hasn't reared it's ugly head since replacing the O2 sensors. That makes me smile, but only slightly. I haven't checked the E% since fueling up the other day but will check it before fueling up again and report back.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

Kind of interesting when I look up the Denso 234 4668 that O'Reilly's shows a picture of it, and if you zoom in, it is the P-B664... I don't put a great deal of faith in what sellers post for pictures but it is curious just the same. Also, get your tinfoil hat ready... 4668 is kind of like...

Growing up doesn't have to suck

Not really testing the fuel at all. I just know that when I buy 89 and it is supposed to have no more than 10% ethanol and the Tech 2 shows that my truck has calculated it to be 25% - 35%, either the truck is reading wrong or the gas stations are really ripping people off. Not super scientific...
