I had an 01 2500 Burb a while back and had bought it dirt cheap. Had tons of issues but the more rugged fix I did was for the defrosters. It was an LT with all the options (except Quadrasteer) but at some point a PO ripped out the servo that moved the blend door. To remedy this, I tied a piece...
Anything is possibly for the right amount of $$$. For the amount that it would likely cost to integrate and incorporate (since it’s not a standard feature available) it would be cheaper to contact ARB or Ironbull to develop a steel bumper and add a ton of aux lighting to see the deer and protect...
Also, quick update from a week of driving. No MPG gain to be seen yet… might be about .3MPG less right now. Slight mix of me THROUGHLY testing the new tune or some long idle times (maybe both), but without a doubt they have greatly improved the drivability of the truck.
Thoroughly recommend...
Unfortunately to say, brand loyalty is not a real thing anymore unless you also carry a name-brand last name. But companies only care about loyalty if you are buying thousands of vehicles annually, not 10-20 over a lifetime (sorry, I’m a downer here).
Resale: Eh. Kinda/kinda not. It will...
What is the physical difference between a FF and non-FF engine? Maybe a dumb question but I’m wondering if the “stealth” feature is there but the difference could be injectors or something else buried deep into the truck.
Maybe?
So it’s been interesting. I’ve been doing a good bit of “general” maintenance (will post in the 3500 thread I have) but VIN lookup at the parts store has the question about flex fuel or non-flex fuel engine. I believe my truck to be non-flex as it was a fleet vehicle and came with a sticker...
Justin did a bang-up job on the truck. Drove for the first time on the highway today with the tune and it just pulls so much harder and longer. Doesn’t seem to get “wheezy” at higher RPM.
No input on MPG yet.
Quick update:
Still need some more miles to be driven but MPG seems to have been affected heavily in a positive way. Seeing 16-18MPG where I used to see 13-14MPG.
Shift response is unbelievably fast and the “firmness” really has not been an issue at this point. Will report back later this week...
I had two leftover L-brackets from another project that I drilled two holes into the radiator support (I think that’s what it is at least) the. With a nut and bolt, mounted it up.
Not a great pic but you can see where I sprays a bit of black paint to seal it up after drilling.
Side and rear? I don’t have anything but for front lighting I installed two Rigid fog lights that I also built a custom harness that connects them directly to the factory fog light switch. They sit behind the front grill.
This right here. I do not believe anyone is aware of any failure of the 6.6L which is available in the 2500 and 3500 Silverados. I have the 6.0 Vortec and the thing is reliable like death and taxes. Again, commercial client that would not tolerate the short lifespan and potential revenue loss...
Hmmm… if someone wants to donate Escalade ESV Platinum bits to me, I’ll give it me best shot lol
I think getting general functionality will be as “easy” as plug and play but I think getting all the Esky premium bits will be the difficult part.
@Marky Dissod I think GM didn’t allow messaging...
You didn’t know the Caddy’s came with messaging seats? Connects directly to your phone LOL. Messaging/massaging hahaha auto correct/spelling error
The Cadillac I think had that fancy piano black haptic feedback system so I wonder if the connectors would be compatible with the the Chevy/GMC...
Probably not, but going to throw this out to the group: Has anyone thought about installing a Cadillac Escalade Platinum seats into the Tahoes/Subs/Yuks?
I know they come with the message seats that utilize an interface with the entertainment system. Has anyone looked into this in any capacity?
Correct. There is also manufacture buyback agreements that accommodate outlier situations like this one with the OP. It still brands the title as a Buyback unit but does not negatively brand the vehicle as Lemon Law. Makes it easier to resell and usually looks at situations, like Lemon Law...
Find something more vanilla. This seems a bit high and appears baked with dealership profit. Don’t forget, they paid $15k in trade, made $5k on the sale of the car to previous owner, then another $2-3k in financing so they only have about $10-14k in total cost in this truck…
Then the dice roll...
