    DFM disabler released

Just wanted to say that I learn a lot from your posts with your technical insight. Keep it up, please!

Do seat blower fans really need to be programmed?

Ohhhh, ok. Sorry. Been around here forever and didn't know that button was for this kind of thing. Thanks!

    DFM disabler released

This is par of what the Carbyte rep said in the Reddit thread I posted earlier: "You have a right to be skeptical: it was no easy feat to accomplish what the Range engineers told you was impossible. Hard as it may be to believe, our engineering team indeed found a way to code around the zero...

    DFM disabler released

Thanks. Well, I'm very interested in something that plugs in under the dash, but not in something that requires a speed of 40 mph before it engages. I can't reach that speed in my town, so I won't realize the benefits of the Carbyte most of the time. Dang.

    6.2l engine tick

While we're talking about engine noises from these trucks... What's the "jingle" I hear at low-speed deceleration? Sounds like it might be more from under the truck as opposed to the engine. Sounds almost like it would be associated with an exhaust valve fluttering (which probably doesn't even...

Have you swapped out the chrome fog-light trim pieces on your Denali?

I've ordered some factory chrome replacement pieces to have on hand in the event I break tabs off the existing ones... ...But can you tell me whether I run the risk of breaking any retaining tabs off of the BUMPER COVER that these pieces mount to? At this point I'm goof with wrecking the...

    Onstar Not Working

Did you have a software update performed by the dealership, and then found that OnStar no longer worked? There are threads here about a recent update frying folks' OnStar interface. Could it be from that?

Do seat blower fans really need to be programmed?

You should post this in the proper model years section (you've got it in the '21+ section). But assume that you have to program EVERYTHING electrical swapped into these trucks.

    6.2l engine tick

Which? The '09's? Or the Yukon's?

    DFM disabler released

Interesting. So, it sounds like the trade-off between the two is needing to get up to 40mph vs cylinder drop out on coasting...?

How wide of a wheel can I fit on my Yukon?

    That doesn't look like a '21+...

I probably will buy it! Does the Range require a speed be reached first?

    DFM disabler released

A Carbyte rep on this thread says that it DOES function under 40 mph:

    6.2l engine tick

My '09 Tahoe had a lifter tick that was most prevalent in the morning, but after it was warmed up. My '23 Yukon makes ticking noises from somewhere in the engine bay upon start up, but it's not the same lifter tick I had with my '09.

    Talk to me about Rims...

Unless you're set on going to 24"s, then I'd be inclined to stick with OEM wheels if you're looking for black 22"s. That'll take all of the guesswork out of it. ...And ride comfort is always going to be a matter of taste. If the ride on these 22"s was terrible, no one would buy them, and they...

So is the 40 mph thing about the Carbyte TRUE?

    best mods so far...

Did I read on this forum somewhere where the Carbyte unit doesn't engage the fuel management delete function until you've reached 40 mph? (And then it's engaged for the remainder of the engine cycle...?) Is that true?

    Upgrade to Heated Steering Wheel

Even replacing some (if not all) electrical parts in these trucks -- and most cars for years now -- with factory replacement of the same part seem to require "reprogramming" the computer to recognize the part.

Software update that must be performed at a dealership

If everything was fine before the dealership did an update, and now things aren't working properly after the update, then of course you should take it back to the dealership.

    Help-2024 Tahoe Stalled

This will be a bit unusual if your 5.3 seized the way some 6.2s have. ...But most other failures I've read about here have been accompanied by a message on the screen about the truck being unable to shift, and folks have had to coast in neutral to the side of the road. Did you have this occur, too?

24 Tahoe RST 5.3 cold start noise

DW -- I'd say that my '23 Denali sounds pretty similar.

    Drive with lift glass open?

I shattered the glass of my ‘09 slamming it closed on a cold night. Burst into a million pieces. Scared the crap out of me. Hopefully the glass in these models is a little sturdier. But I rarely ever pop the rear glass after that episode.

Have you swapped out the chrome fog-light trim pieces on your Denali?

Oh, I'm sure I can remove them just fine by breaking all the tabs! LOL But, I was hoping to be able to remove them in such a way that they can go back on later. Maybe I'll just buy new OEM chrome ones and then have at these with a pry tool.

    Drive with lift glass open?

I think the smartest thing to do would be to have it open enough to let the lumber pass through, and then rest it back down on the lumber (on a towel or something) so that there's no ability for it to slam.

    Drive with lift glass open?

Seems to me that you can draw exhaust into the rear of the truck... So, if you're going to do it, I think I'd have other windows open as well.
