Thanks!!! The evaporator is the only thing we didn't replace. The dash does have to come out for replacement so I'll check everything really good. And thank you for the part numbee as well
It blows my mind some of the stuff I see at the yard. Other stuff I wonder how the hell they got it there. This one does look pretty clean. I'm going to guess motor or tranny let go. But I'll rob as much as I can. I might even see if that hood is worth it. It looks like a bad spot on the front...
Today should be a good day. A very nice, clean OBS K1500 extended cab truck just got admitted to the graveyard. I had a chance to look it over yesterday and it has a very nice left fender (which I definitely need) and two front seats that look like they are in really good shape and still move...
My trip is my life saver too. My gauge is pretty accurate when it doesn't decide to start dancing. It also will spin around and get caught on my oil pressure gauge which cracks me up too when it happens and then I have to bounce the truck to get it to let go.
I had quite the chuckle this morning with my spastic gas needle. Axel F was playing on the oldies station and the needle was just jumping along with it. I'd upload video but it's too large. Hysterical though. Have a good one today!
The stock OEM's are like a brushed chrome and that's what my rims are, at least that's what my center cap style says. I like them, they brighten up the truck without being blinding bright. And I can still get a bigger tire on them and make it look a beefy. I've got OEM grey fender flares that...
East- Thanks for the info! Going to try door alignment tool (thanks Rock Auto) and new strikers. Worst case it doesn't work and then we get into hinges.
East- Thanks for the diagrams. I haven't really been able to track down a video for the Dorman installation and like most stuff on FrankenBetty, it will probably be the biggest pain in the ass three day job ever. Nothing ever goes right on this thing. We did try to adjust the striker, it...
They are takeoffs from a 2015 Yukon. Let me see if I can find a good pic of them. I do love them. The second pic is with the correct center cap in them.
Ok, it's time to address my hinges. Both doors sag noticeably and we are thinking of replacing the hinges. Has anyone done this before? Does the dash need to come down in order to secure the new hinges? What about on the passenger side with all of the a/c stuff there? Is it straightforward or...
I actually solved a problem on FrankenBetty this weekend. My a/c compressor was randomly shutting off. After reviewing everything replaced with that system and some help from the Google, I determined that the pressure sensor on the accumulator wasn't new, it was the old one. Replaced and...
This weekend got the Junkyard Hoe realigned, somehow the toe keeps getting out and the steering wheel has to be adjusted but whatever, lifetime warranty makes it worthwhile. Rotated the tires. The hubby hooked up my heater which is awesome because it will be in the 50's later this week. A/C is...
Ok, so one door is under the dash, right by the gas pedal, it's the one with the levers attached to it. Not bad. Then there is one behind the ashtray, not bad to get to either. The one that is the biggest pain in the ass is the one on top of the box that hurts the heater core. We could get...
Decided to try and get my GMT800 seats into the Hoe. Nope. That was a fail. Then I finally got the main inlet blend door actuator swapped out. Well the nice thing is that it doesn't thump anymore. The bad thing is that the a/c still blows through all of the vents at the same time. Checked...
The a/c in the Junkyard Hoe stopped blowing cold. Turned out to be the relay being loose. Fixed that, ice cold air again. It still blows out of every vent all the time, but I have become spoiled by a/c in the two months I've had it vs the two years I rode around without any. I can't go back to...
This is true, just Florida sun beating the hell out of all of the plastic on the truck. At least my dash is in one piece.
I got to drive her today and oh my, so in love with the new ride. I also discovered just how absolutely shitty my seats are. Almost time for that GMT800 swap for the...
Oh but there is!! On the roof, it needs to be taken care of but it's mostly just where the clear came off. No major rust, no missing parts at least LOL
My son came home for good from the Navy on Wednesday. He replaced my shocks on all four corners this weekend/today. He's also going to tackle my blend door actuators since the one on the driver side is now squeaking. It's great to have an extra hand!
C'mon guys, you know the ball chiller is where it's at LOL I'm just tickled that I have ac and I'm not sweating to death in the Florida heat anymore. Next project is seats and in the not too distant future, I'm gonna need a tranny rebuild. Thankfully my hubby knows a tranny guy who will do it...
The one that makes noise is the one by the airbox and it is impossible to get to it without dropping the dash. We unplugged it and it quit making the thumping noise. So not looking forward to dealing with this. But the ball chiller works and that is awesome LOL. 90°+ days aren't even phasing...
