What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Found some play in the rear of the drive shaft. Replaced the U-joint, still some play. Looks like I'll be getting a new knuckle put on as one side is wallowed out a bit. Thankfully there is a local shop that redoes them and rebalances them.

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Thursday afternoon coming home from work the tranny started slipping bad. Got home, it was a quart and a half low. Checked under the truck and the dang rear output shaft seal is leaking again. Replaced it about five months ago. Ordered a new one and the bushing that goes in there too. That...

    1996 Tahoe 2dr 2wd compatible donor.

What kind of water flooded it? Salt, brackish or fresh? If it is other than fresh, you need to scrap it. You'd be looking at it possibly bursting into flames or really bad electrical issues if so. I handled auto claims for a long time and here in Florida, we get a lot of flooding. If it were...

    Fuel issue/running rough

Thanks! I think that is my culprit as well, just need to do the same and drop the tank and make sure my pump is the correct one. I had no idea that 95 was such a bastardized year. The OBD1.5 is a killer to deal with. If you have to do your lower ball joints, double check twice before ordering...

    1995 Yukon 4x4 5.7 TBI Erratic / Surging Idle

Have you checked Rock Auto for fuel pump? They have the whole assembly so you can replace everything at once.

How about some love for the 2 door? Post pics of your's!

This is my 95 2 door Hoe. I love her to death, her name is Black Betty LOL I've put a new crate motor in her, she's had a bunch of sensors replaced, door panels, front seats, console and new shoes on her. I upgraded to a black grille this past weekend. Oh new headlights, taillights, trim...

    Fuel issue/running rough

I replaced my instrument cluster this weekend and it helped smooth it out a little more, but the next step is the fuel pump. I think that is my culprit as well.

    Fuel issue/running rough

Ok so I'm still working out the kinks on my 1995 2 door Hoe. Now, I should have done some more research before I bought her but she had everything I wanted (Barn doors, 4wd, 2dr, etc). We put a new crate 5.7L motor in her. Kept the existing intake, TBI and all the accessories. Since I got her...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I got new door panels for my girl. They are much nicer, it's awesome to have all of the connectors on the back :) And I attempted to use some rubbing compound on the driver's side. The previous owner wrote "FOR SALE" on the side in chalk pen when it was dirty. Deep scratches in the already...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

No you don't. 80+ degrees in December ruins any Christmas spirit there is. And it's just garbage to be sweating 12 months out of the year! LOL

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I was having a rough idle, rich smelling exhaust and some lurching at stop lights. Replaced the temp control sensor, the o-rings for the feed and return line on the TBI and had the hubby tighten up my right side donut (it had rattled loose). Truck runs much better. Smoother idle, less...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I replaced the VSS that sits on the transmission. This is the rock auto part I used - ULTRA-POWER 5S4668. It sits on the left side of your transmission, easy enough to reach when it is on the ground. Just unclip the harness, and an adjustable wrench and you'll be good to go.

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

It came on when I had to disconnect the brown/white wire to get the timing set when we replaced the motor.

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Changed out my CTS and pigtail, seems to have brought down the rich smell on idle. And the idle dropped to 600 in drive. I need to upgrade my thermostat to a 195 and tighten back up the donuts, I hear a small leak on the passenger side. The VSS fixed my OD and TC lock-up issues. My rear output...

    Help 99 Tahoe shudders/ jerks

Is your speedo doing anything weird? Mine wouldn't stay in OD and the speedo would fall out after anything higher than 40. Replaced the VSS, it's running like brand new. Rock Auto sells the TCC solenoid and the harness as well. Not that bad on price.

How to Rebuild the Front Suspension on your 1997-1999 OBS 4X4: Step by Step

Our rebuild went well. The biggest issue we ran into was the ball joints being different than what we expected. The hubby said he should have jacked it up and looked at the lowers but with my LCA being stamped, it should've used pressed in joints. Nope, riveted ones. And getting those hot...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Fixed my tranny and OD problem. VSS was shot. She cruises now. Replaced headlights, signal indicators and side markers and sway bar links. Off to rhe shop on Friday for an alignment and I'm one happy girl!

    Name these 2nd row parts?

I just pulled these pieces at a junkyard. The cupholder and the upper part are all one piece. The bottom is part of that lower panel.

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

This weekend was a big weekend for the Franken-truck as we've started calling it. I have a 95 2 door Hoe. Needed new front suspension/steering, so I start gathering parts a few weeks out. I have the hubby check my lower control arms, they are stamped, so that means pressed balljoints. Nope...

How to Rebuild the Front Suspension on your 1997-1999 OBS 4X4: Step by Step

I'm gonna bookmark this. It's our project this weekend. Thankfully my truck has only seen red clay, it looks like rust but is just mud/clay.

Best at tires for 99 suburban 4wd

I have an all black truck and they just kind of pop but without being too flashy. I have black center caps for now, I believe for Christmas I'm getting some brushed bowtie ones.

    98/99 steering wheel fit in a 97?

If the module/airbag matches up, then I would say yes. Otherwise you could have a catastrophic failure of the airbag if you were to get into an accident and the module from your old airbag doesn't work with new steering wheel and airbag.

    98/99 steering wheel fit in a 97?

I would think the airbag module would determine if you could switch or not.
