Being that I work out of my home shop (on my days off) I don't see a lot of time on the car coming up as its tax time and people love to spend money come end of jan. My plan is to make a good killing during tax season and maybe treat myself to a new set of 15" beadlocks? Hmmm could complete the...
Its basically done. It's on jackstands but only because i need to bleed the brakes. I got essentially laid off of work for about a month and had to shift focus to making money at home and it completely diverted me off the car. Now that I'm back to work, the weather has been crap. So I just been...
So, after further testing the scavenge pump is a success, no more smoke. Everything electrical is wired and working including all the gauges. Decided to throw the seats and harnesses in. I also made rear seat supports that are welded to the cage. The seats are super sturdy now with no flex. Man...
Brand new POS chinaman scavenge pump. It's big, it's probably gonna be loud, no clue what the fittings are going into it, but it should work well.
So looking back I never posted pics of the upper radiator hose in-place. I bought a flex hose and it was a tad too short. So I decided the stock...
Quick little update, very little has been going on. I've enjoyed taking a little break from the car. It is time to get it finished though. So yeah I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and order a scavenge pump. Leveling the car did improve the smoke but there is still too much for my...
i put the cheapest crap available in all my rears that i build. Cept the camaro, its got redline shockproof. And when i swapped gears like 6 months later, you better believe i saved it and put it back in.
Please put the keyboard down and go back to eating your hot pocket. The "additive" that kills cats is Zinc, and Rotella and every other oil are less then the maximum allowed by the epa. There may be one or two exceptions like joe gibbs or amsoil euro but i doubt them anymore. Rotella and other...
Nothing, the bottom ends are the same. The differences in years that will plague you with running issues are injectors (unless you pay to have them changed in the tune) and cam and crank sensors. If the new engine has the cam sensor at the rear of the engine you're golden on that, and move your...
Im gonna say first and easiest thing to do is replace the ujoints with a good named brand non-greasable version. Greased versions are hollow, non are solid and stronger. Try that and go from there. Ujoint sounds radiate through the shaft.
We are in the belly of the beast now. Fixing screw ups, finding new issues, and doing really boring stuff like running new brake lines. I replaced the leaky fuel fittings and both fuel pump relays. All is well on the fuel side. Still waiting on one -10AN fitting to complete the PCV system. I...
I bought the spindles off ebay. Can't remember the store name but it seemed to sell a bunch of them and had 99+% feedback so i took the chance. Zero complaints. Ride has always been pretty decent once I got rid of the stock shocks which I think werent working correctly.
I have the DJM 3 inch rear springs, shock relocators, and airlift bags. Its a yukon XL. If i have anything in the rear i need the minimum 5-10psi in the bags. I have their gauge and an on board compressor to fill and release as needed.
All the info is in this thread...
As I plan my rewiring of the fuel pumps, I decided to investigate further. I contacted the vendor and went over the details and we could find no reason for two relays to fail. They look fine right? No burnt contacts or anything.....
One hammer later we found our issue. Looking back I remember...
Couple people asked for a startup video so I decided to focus on everything it took to make the car start and run and see if these new rod bearings were gonna spin or what. The smoke you see was coolant that was spilled earlier on the hotside. Whoops.
Where we are now, basically everything...
Im going on a year or more with mine. Added a built on compressor and an airlift psi gauge. Been working nice. I run 5psi normal, and 45psi towing the car hauler.
My bladders were busted when i got my truck. It did not ride soft, it rode stiff. I suspected the truck or shocks were incorrectly adjusting to a firm condition. I pulled it all off, installed regular bilsteins 4600s, ebay resisters, and pulled the fuse. Rode great after that.
