Apologies if this has been asked. But once a skin is attached, does it obscure any of the attachment hardware? In other words, if you ever have to remove the dash, do you need to plan on purchasing a new skin (or new dash)?
Today my Yukon had trailer duty. You may have seen news reports of a tornado that went through Spartanburg, SC last Saturday. Today I helped my local disaster relief team with some cleanup. Some of the houses are nearly completely destroyed. It's sad to see. But it's heartening to see neighbors...
I took my Yukon on a road trip to Dirty Myrtle and back this weekend (~500 miles round trip). On the way down, I was stuck in a pretty major line of thunderstorms that dogged me all the way (had a tornado hit Spartanburg right before we left). Lots of wind and heavy rain for nearly 5 hours...
Got one in my Amazon wish list already. The only thing that gives me pause is that my dash has recently developed a really annoying rattle on the inside. It sounds like it's right behind the headlight switch. If I can't figure it out from below, I'll end up pulling the top panel off anyway...
When I bought my Yukon a year ago, it already had a crack in the dash next to the passenger airbag. After studying up on the causes, looking at easy fixes, hard fixes, replacement, etc. I vowed to do everything I could to preserve the rest of the dash. I've done everything I could. I put a...
I had to make a landfill run today. I figured since it's Friday it wouldn't be too crowded. Wrong! I gave up on the paved public collection station when I saw the quarter-mile long line to get in. So I went to the main (unpaved) landfill and took my chances against the roofing nails, screws and...
How hard is it to remove the dash parts for wrapping? I'm always worried I'll break tabs off the pieces. I was going to buy a second set to wrap. But if it's low risk, I may just try it with the ones I have.
I'm wondering if you've just got a stuck ring? If it's not a DD, you could let the offending cylinder soak with Seafoam or penetrating oil for a few days. Then drive the hound out of it and see what happens.
That's a peeve of mine on this board. The forum section that a post is in doesn't show up in a list of threads, such as the "New Posts" list. I frequently forget to check the forum section when looking through a post. Though I usually remember to check before posting, it's not hard to imagine...
I got it from gmpartshouse.com back in May. Part number 22947767. Read through this thread below. It has links to multiple potential vendors, as well as the luck by which I got mine:

You'll notice I got to the same sad...
No affiliation. But a quick Google search turned up this place:
https://burnsstainless.com/blogs/articles-1/inconel
They say they stock Inconel 625, though their site doesn't actually list any specific components. Perhaps you can give them a call and at least see what the cost will be.
I tried contact cement, as it's commonly recommended for bonding leather and plastic. But it softened in the summer heat and eventually let go.
I decided to swap to a non-wood heated wheel. They're mostly out of stock. But every now and then, a few pop up at some vendors. I lucked out and...
If you really want to go all out, use inconel. You can't beat it for strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Save the titanium for the exhaust tip.
Gotcha. Cool idea. I'm not sure I could comfortably carry all that in my pocket, though.
Not knowing about that product, I put adhesive-backed rubber all over the plastic dash around the area so my keys wouldn't make noise when they swung around. It works okay. But the adhesive is starting...
So many questions...
What is a flipkey? Google brings up a travel rental site. And what is that in the photo? And what are you trying to accomplish when you say it "works"?
