What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Fair point. I've never really looked at "show quality" CF. I'm comparing to more utilitarian stuff I've seen (and made a lifetime ago).

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

No. In fact I cut a couple down a few weeks ago. The eco-weenies hate me.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I don't think so. The geometry on the back side of most of these pieces would be very difficult to reproduce. For example, the center stack surround has nine metal clips holding it in place, each of which requires a big tab on the back of the piece. The best you could hope for is CF laminated...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I worked on increasing my carbon (fiber) footprint, lol. The center stack surround was pretty easy. The console lid was trickier. Surprisingly I was able to cover it in one piece. Just seven more pieces to go.

    Cracked Dash

Also an FYI about part numbers. My Yukon has the center speaker, but has a different part number from both of the ones mentioned earlier. Mine's 23224742 (for Ebony). I'm pretty sure the 23224747 is w/o the speaker. Also, the exploded diagrams they use on the GM parts websites are generic...

    Cracked Dash

I've been searching for the answer to that for years. Thanks for clarifying. I was going to get the overlay. But this changes things. I'll order a replacement and look into ways to reinforce it.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I replaced the steering wheel with one from a Suburban LTZ. Same buttons and heat, but without the "wood" ring. I got one of the last ones from a GM dealer before they were discontinued. I hated how the ring felt, and mine had come unglued. Several attempts to re-glue it had failed. So I...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I don't think it's possible to do with one piece; certainly not for me. I wrapped one long piece around all four vertical sides, putting the seam in the back where the cupholder hides it. This piece, alone, took about two hours to put on. It took a lot of stretching to get it to conform to...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Ever since I bought it, I've been wanting to get rid of the fake wood in my Denali, by covering it with fake carbon fiber. So I did the smart thing and started with the most difficult piece; my new-to-me forward bin I scored from the junkyard out of a Suburban. Step one was to remove the tabs...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

A few years ago, one of the tires on my wife's car developed a slow leak. After investigating, I found what I though was a wire nail stuck in the tread. I couldn't get it pulled out to plug it, so I took it to a tire shop. They dismounted the tire and found about half of a wire clothes hanger...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yes it can, if you use it full strength. And as Rocket Man said, it will also mess up your skin. It is quite alkaline, and will suck the oil right out of it. By the next day, your skin will have turned into sandpaper. The good news is you can polish aluminum with them...by hand, as it were.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

FYI, for safe cleaning of plastic parts, I use Super Clean (formerly Castrol Super Clean) in the purple jug, sold at Walmart. Used full strength, it will strip paint if the part is soaked overnight. But doesn't seem to harm plastic parts at all.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

It's nothing personal, or about you living in CA. SC is experiencing a housing crisis because of the huge number of people moving here. Everywhere I look there are giant apartment complexes being built, with hundreds of units. Building material prices almost tripled earlier this summer, and...

Then actually move out of state. Best of both worlds. Don't come to SC, though. We're full.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Went to leave for work this morning, and got a right-rear tire pressure warning. So I have a slow leak. Then I realized it was the right-front tire, which means the tire shop that rotated them a few months ago didn't reprogram the TPMS system. That's the tire I had to plug because the landfill...

    Under hood storage box

Thanks for the idea. Next time I visit LKQ, I'll look through the GMT800s for a storage box.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I thought that's what this one was. What's the difference? My Denali one has retractable, pivoting covers that close to make an unbroken expanse of fake wood. It looks okay. But the doors take up so much space that there isn't enough room to even put my sunglasses in it. This one is far more...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Installed the "new" tray today. It's amazing how much crap ends up under this thing. Apparently the previous owner had dogs, and drank a lot of stuff that was sticky.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I've had an alert set up with my three closest LKQ yards for about a year, for any GMT900. I finally got a hit this morning, hoping to score some interior trim pieces to experiment with for vinyl wrapping. Here's the pic posted this morning: By the time I got there, around 2:00, it was...

I can respect that. Like I said, I wasn't there. I just can't comprehend the mentality of people who go through life bothering/hurting others and act as though they have a right to.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I remember that story. I remember thinking at the time, that I would have escalated, kid or not. I don't take verbal threats about firearms lightly. But I wasn't there. Probably good that this hasn't happened to me (yet). Then again, I live in SC, where CC is legal, and OC becomes legal in...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I do most of my own work, partially to avoid the high shop rates in my area. When I do take it somewhere, I have one shop that will let me supply the parts, and just charge me labor. Had them do a fuel pump swap on my Expedition a few years ago. I figured $165 labor to rnr the full fuel tank...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Some enterprising person in NV or OR should come up with a business model whereby they sell a quarter acre of worthless land to CA residents so they can establish residency to bypass all the crap. Here in SC, we see LOTS of NC registrations because NC car taxes are lower. I know one person...
