If you try to bump the key to bump over the engine, can you just bump it, or will it try to crank on its own for a few seconds?

Was it replaced originally at the same time as plugs and wires, or only after plugs and wires?

I mean, have you left a fuel pressure gauge on overnight to see how it’s responding. Does keying on bring fuel pressure up, but then still starts hard?

    2005 yukon xl denali 6.0

Tried leaving the fuel pressure gauge on to monitor when starting? Does the pressure come up from keying on? Some vehicles seem like they don’t fire up the pump until you try cranking, I was thinking you could try to bump the starter and stop, see if the fuel pressure then came up, and then...

Connected a fuel pressure gauge and know if it is a fuel pressure issue? Does it do this every or almost every morning? Keep an eye out on the behavior of the security light. Any modifications? Pretty much grasping straws after that unless you get a code to come up sometime

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

naughty list… Ever have to beat your lug nuts off, because you got a screw in your tire, and needed to stick a plug in the hole? Lubricating the studs might keep you from being down on your knees all day.

    Dreaded P0300 possibly solved

With having a flashing cel on any sort of repeatable basis, and having given it a good once over, I think it time to get a scanner connected that can show which cylinder is misfiring. Even if you’re not feeling a drivability issue, the only reason the cel flashes is for a catalyst damaging misfire.

SOLVED: Another misfire chasing threads (2008 express van)

Might have been a little misleading, how I phrased that. I meant while it’s at more of an angle, not necessarily driving after having been at an angle. If there was any puddling in the intake it would exacerbate the issue, because more would run back towards 7 and 8. Accelerating while driving...

    Strange electrical issue.

when the brake lights illuminate on their own, does the 3rd light up, or just left and right? …I was thinking this could possibly eliminate the flasher but id need a diagram to see if that makes sense. Tried rocking and jouncing the vehicle to see if you can get it to act up more often?

@Tonyv__ does it happen to run worse if you park it with the front end pointed up an incline? just thinking 7 and history of 8, if you have oil puddling in your intake it tends to affect those cylinders

    Dreaded P0300 possibly solved

Misfire at light load and raised rpm means look for worn/faulty ignition bits for me. know how long plugs and wires have been on? Know what replacement parts were used last time they were replaced?

Well I think that’s kinda why I think adjusting is a good option. I bet most remans have used gears inside. So if it’s not leaking and the input/output bearings are in decent shape, there might not be much to gain from a reman. Too loose and sloppy or too tight and twitchy, can very potentially...

ABS activation at ALL speeds, the usual sensor/hub problem!

@Herman escalade 2wd or AWD? Some aftermarket hubs intended for 4wd/AWD take issue with not having an axle nut helping to hold them together

ABS activation at ALL speeds, the usual sensor/hub problem!

I’d start by getting my hands on a scanner that can show wheel speeds. Then go drive and duplicate the concern. My guess is that the signal from one wss is dropping out. If so then you can start testing the associated circuit

    Strange electrical issue.

My first thought is looking for what’s aftermarket on the vehicle. #1 being, does it have remote start. Followed by, did it used to have remote start, or maybe a previous owner had remote start and didn’t remove it fully, or left exposed wires. Basically have you poked around under the dash for...

If you think your steering box is loose, what’s the downside? Worst thing would be having to replace it vs. living with it loose and slowly getting even worse. I haven’t adjusted many, but when I’ve adjusted them by hand to have a minimal amount of slop I can feel at the gear, when test driven...

It’s probably not for the best, but I’d probably loosen the bolt a bit, rotate it where the high point / largest part of the run out was facing straight up, and gently beat it into submission.

Not sure what you’re thinking to close up. I wouldn’t take it apart, just loosen the bolt at that connection slightly, try to align the 2 shafts, and retighten
