Personally, I'd keep saving and get the catted y-pipe AND a tune. I know, opinions and all. Had an open exhaust LS1 when I was 19 and it stunk so bad - that smell doesn't come out clothes easily. But, back then I did use O2 sims for the rears before I got it tuned.
I agree, especially if your state has inspections. I have the long tubes and y pipe with no cats on my 03, and the smell does get annoying. Get the cats.

I guess I'll look into custom exhaust parts with high flow converters, thanks for the input!

Billet aluminum dual zone blend door install, just fyi I had a heater treater installed about 10 years ago is why the plenum is cut up. To install the billet the plenum had to be opened up you couldn't slide the doors in like the heater treater.

I'm about to have to hack my daughter's 2014 Camaro up to do the same. Craptastic design by GM. If you run MAX A/C the actuator will apply constant pressure to the door to keep it closed tight and eventually the plastic snaps.

Here in Texas, you can't survive without MAX.
