I assume it could be a capacity/flow issue. For the 6.0 maybe it has higher flow rates, I dunno. Kind of like the A/C compressor the 10S17F for w/o Rear A/C and the 10S20F for vehicles WITH Rear A/C - extra capacity for extra cooling. I think if I do it, I'll go with Denso which will be cheaper...- tRidiot

This shows up as compatible with my 5.3L, but to check against the 6.0L I try the Suburban 6.0 or Silverado 2500 HD and it shows as incompatible.- tRidiot

So I found a difference, I guess - the water pump on the 5.3L and the 6.0L are different. Not surprisingly, I guess, but I almost ordered the wrong one.- tRidiot

I have an intake gasket kit in my cart, with intake manifold gaskets and a separate valley pan gasket (both Fel-Pro)... do I need any other gasket kits? Besides the water pump gaskets, which come with the pump.- tRidiot

Can anyone point me out a better place than RockAuto to get my parts? As @fasteddy told me the other night, on a motor swap you get "hundred dollared to death" - every time I turn around, it's another C-note for something or other. If I can save a couple, it'll help a lot.- tRidiot

Ok, point taken... best water pump I can get. We have a lift to do the job, so we'll be up and down between motor and trans, but it should be ok. Looking around, I don't trust Ebay much anymore, too many horror stories. But I found this scanner tool, seems to have a couple of good comments around the web, though they ship from overseas. I see something similar on Amazon for $599, and a ton of other things come up when you search for... -

Yes I will be doing new plugs and wires. And I think my belt is ok, but it is only a couple years old and is a special belt - with triple alts I had to get a super long one.- tRidiot

Motor is supposed to be shipped today, I am swapping from a 5.3L (L59) to a 6.0L (LQ9). What parts am I going to need to be prepared? I think I want to replace my air conditioning stuff, too, while I'm at it. Compressor and such, since I'm going to be keeping this vehicle for another 100-200k...- tRidiot

Hyper Dip or Plastic Dip
No way in hell plastidip will hold up on running boards. I've done it several times on wheels, I'll never bother with it again. I had custom rock sliders made for my Tahoe and we did some kinda rough hard coat... Gatorhyde? Duraliner? Rhinoliner? Something like that... one of the bedliner... -

Stuck far from home. Battery light came on, now Los of power.
That sure sounds like a bad alternator.... so at O'Reilly's they checked and said your alternator was charging??? Something's off there... you should be able to run off the alternator even if the battery is bad or missing.- tRidiot
