Or install a Fumoto valve and connect a short hose to the oil sample container and fill it, close the valve. EZPZ

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I say rebuild the spare unit first and just do a swap.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Not today, today, but late yesterday I replaced all of the heater hoses, both upper and lower radiator hoses and the thermostat. I removed each O ring from the T connectors and sprayed them with silicone so they would slide on easier. Also, both T's had a slight mold ridge that ran the length of...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Since your MAF values were a little funky, I would swap that in and see if it makes any difference. A misfire in one bank should not cause a lean condition on the other bank, the separate O2 sensors should deal with that.

    Newbie be gentle

Welcome to the forum. There are a ton of great people here that are very knowledgeable about this platform. I've been here less than a year and I could tell right away that this place is full of sage advice and great people. Good luck with your project.

The town I am moving to in WY has a fireworks store that is open year round and is fully stocked with all the good stuff. Couple of years ago we got tennis ball sized mortars for the 4th. Have fun with your fireworks.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

For decades I have only had the ignition key and the fob for each vehicle. As little weight as possible on the key assembly.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Costco has an AGM battery for the GMT900 for $170 in my area, and Calif is usually more expensive than most.

There are places that will do a clear 'bra' to help protect your paint from rock chips. I have zero idea about how long it will last before it starts to yellow or peel.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Ordered new heater to firewall hoses, upper and lower heater hoses and thermostat. Once they come in I will have to dive into replacing everything but the radiator.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Just got done changing the oil and installing a Fumoto valve. Oil changes will be much easier from here on out. Edit: After looking around more carefully at the heater hoses, it looks like I have a slight leak at the T connectors on the firewall. :( Guess I will have to order all of the hoses...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Did you swap out your mirror because the old one was bad? After driving Class A equipment, I do not like convex mirrors at all on any vehicle. I use my mirrors for backing up, often, so I do like the distorted view a convex mirror gives for that scenario. Convex are handy for lane changes but I...

    Lube Chart?

I've crawled all over the underside and greased what I could find, but I wanted to make sure I am not missing anything. Also, since the OEM U-joints are not greaseable, I am going to swap them out for some Moog or Spicer units that can be greased. I have also been looking into sway bar end...

    Lube Chart?

Back in the 80's, when I worked in construction, all of our equipment had lube charts so we could service them as needed. A lube chart has all of the lubrication points along with the type of fluid/lube needed and the intervals for each service. The owner's manuals of my antique cars also...

Gave it a bath this morning and checked all of the tire pressures. Finally got the chance to vacuum the interior.

    Power Liftgate Grinding Sound

Better scan tools, or a Tech 2, will scan the liftgate mechanism and should find any pending issues.

I need one of those! Got the steering position sensor done. Zero errors when the steering wheel is turned. Mission accomplished. And yes, the inside still needs to be cleaned up. It showed up completely dirty inside, have not had a chance to detail the inside.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well, my mud flaps showed up today, a mere 18 hours or so after I had the front wheels off for brakes. Don't know if I'll take them off again. :( But, it is time to tackle the steering angle sensor. Time to become a contortionist and work under the dash for a few hours.

    New Vehicle - Service Suggestions

Cleaning the MAF is especially important if you have never done it and you, or the PO, used oiled air filter media. Many filters add oil to the paper element to help attract dirt and that oil can contaminate the air being pulled into the engine and cause a slight coating to build up on the MAF...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Swapped out my front brake pads. New ones went in with zero issues, though I have not bedded them in, yet. That will be done in the morning. Greased the outer tie rod end while I had the wheels off. Sure wish my Husky mud flaps had been delivered so I could have installed those while I had the...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I was just about to change the oil but I ordered a Fumoto valve so I will have to wait until that comes in. I did check the air filter and took a general look around under the hood. My steering position sensor should be here any time now so I can get to doing that.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Boy, am I glad I will no longer need to worry about that nonsense when I am in Wyoming full time. My Yukon is already registered in WY, it's my other cars that I will not need to worry about. Zero smog tests and zero state inspections.
