Wondering if spacers with 22s will rub ?

Looks like in your profile picture that you've got wide offset rims. If that's the case, that's why you're rubbing.

Wondering if spacers with 22s will rub ?

They are, but those bushings are very tough. They're not like a regular shock bushing that will crumble and fall apart, they're designed to hold the weight of the vehicle. Even my '07 truck which has been hammered on for 190k miles, those are still in good shape.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

They sell a rim cleaning chemical at O'Reilly's. Can't recall the brand, but it's with all the detailing stuff. Works like magic. Spray it on, let it sit. Spray on again then pressure wash it off. Spray it on again and then take suds and a sponge to it, she'll look like new.

AWD takes a lot of load off the rear end as well. I agree, 10 bolt is a great rear end, but abuse over time adds up. Especially in a heavy truck always loaded down.

    4wd to 2wd

We have almost no 2wd trucks or suvs in my area, never knew that. Very interesting info. Thanks!

    4wd to 2wd

If you cut out the droop stop you are going to start popping ball joints left and right. If you're going that tall you need aftermarket control arms anyway, and longer shocks. Once you buy all that, plus 2wd hubs, plus $150 for lift spindles, you might as well had gone on with a proper 4wd...

    Spare Tire Carrier

My solution is going to use the factory bumper. A tube will bolt to the frame and with a couple of bends will bolt underneath the bumper VIA plates welded on either end. Then above the bumper another plate will be bolted opposite the plate underneath. A "spindle" will be welded to that plate...

    Spare Tire Carrier

I'm going to be building a swing out carrier that mounts to the rear bumper and ties down into the frame underneath. You could certainly find a local fab shop to build you one to your liking, depending on how much you're willing to spend. Check with local hot rod and restoration shops, or small...

    33" spare tire fit

A hundred bucks will buy you a used flux core, a cheapie hood, and your first roll of wire if you're thrifty. A super, super worthwhile investment. You can do a lot with those cheap welders if you practice.

    4wd to 2wd

I just recently ran mine this way for a couple weeks after blowing a CV. I would consider if the stub shaft would interfere with anything when using a lift spindle, however. If it would you will have to switch to 2wd hubs anyway. You don't have to be worried about a tcase speed code because the...

The rear end all depends on how the trans is tuned and how well your truck hooks. I blew up a 10 bolt in my truck with stock trans and stock 5.3 with an LS3 cam. Sheared the ring gear bolts surprisingly enough, never seen anything like it. 500 miles from home no less. Building a 9.5 14 bolt for...

With a careful hand, you'll actually have better luck using a high wattage soldering iron in order to not burn components because the required contact time to melt the solder is shorter. Decreases heat dispersal through the components.

Does anyone know a way to measure actual torsion level/lift??

I would also be interested to know the answer to this question. I have even asked a couple dealer service departments about factory height specifications to measure for suspension sag and have never gotten a good answer. Not that it much matters for me, I pretty much set it where I want it and...

    Tow Truck Ripped Frame

Premiums go up when someone hits you and you're not at fault, don't see this being different.

    Tow Truck Ripped Frame

I would be concerned about my insurance premiums increasing if this were reported.

    Tow Truck Ripped Frame

This is not a question for your average body shop IMO. I would be wanting to hear from someone who does frame repair, a body shop with a frame rack. By my eye, given that it is in a bend on the frame, that is already a natural weak point. I would not say it were intentional on the part of the...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally threw a new CV in and changed the oil. Had a very small amount of metal in the oil, unfortunately. At 305k I reckon it's time, but the darn thing still makes 65-70psi oil pressure driving down the road. Rattle's pretty good for about 50-60 seconds on cold start up, and then doesn't make...

Best thing I've found for O2 sensors is this style O2 wrench. I've used every different type of wrench and socket I've seen and this is by far the best. Night and day difference.

Wondering if spacers with 22s will rub ?

Shocks do not effect height, you are still at stock height. You also have a completely different body style Tahoe, so what fits yours has no regard to what fits OP's.

Wondering if spacers with 22s will rub ?

There's so much more info needed to answer this question. What tire size are you going to have on said 22s? What is the width of the rim? What is the offset or backspacing of the rim? How thick of spacers?

    4l60e question...is it junk?

If you're game to pull it and reinstall it yourself, you may find a local tranny shop that would do a reasonably priced rebuild on a carry out. Of course, you're still probably looking at $400-$500 in parts once you include swapping out for a reman torque converter plus the build fee on top...

    4l60e question...is it junk?

That's not so, I've done it before I rebuilt a trans on more than one occasion. You should never go through the trouble of rebuilding a transmission without also having your torque converter rebuilt, so that's a non-issue. Especially if there's already metal in the transmission, that won't come...

    4l60e question...is it junk?

That said, if you've lost gears and you have metal, you need a rebuild. I wouldn't waste the money refilling the trans with fresh fluid and filter. Literally, I'd pour the old fluid back in it or fill it up with used motor oil to get it to the tranny shop instead of spending the money on new...

    4l60e question...is it junk?

Scratch that, I had one empty 4l60e case that was easy access. Confirmed, same spot, that's just some rough casting flash. No issue.

    4l60e question...is it junk?

Looks like casting flash to me, but I don't recall that specific view off hand in a '60e. Wish I had one easy access and I'd pop the pan off and look for you, but my garage is a mess right now and my transmissions are at the very back under a table. I would say, if there are no chunks in the...
