How do I know exactly how much I'm raising the front up from stock setting if the previous owner played with the torsion bars?

Is there a way to measure certain suspension bits instead of simply measuring from the fender to the floor? Maybe between bump stops? If so, what is the stock spec distance between bump stops?

I beleive that you will find the procedure and dimensions in the repair manual. Cant remember the page, but the page number has been posted here recently. A Chilton repair manual is available on the forum. Scrool to the bottom and search there. What you seek is in Chapter 10 section 8. Look for a thread that starts with" Blessing my brothers with a Chilton repair manual. Look in the tech section.

I would also be interested to know the answer to this question. I have even asked a couple dealer service departments about factory height specifications to measure for suspension sag and have never gotten a good answer.

Not that it much matters for me, I pretty much set it where I want it and forget it. If you're looking for the spec in order to increase parts longevity, then set it so the CV angles are as flat as possible, but be aware that when you change the height you will need to get a front end alignment or your tires will wear unevenly, and in a hurry.

I found an explanation on where to set torsion keys while reading the installation instructions for one of the expensive lift kits. I forget which one...look at the various installation instruction pdfs for the premium lift kits (not rough country) for our year trucks and near the end it will tell you how to correctly set the height after kit has been installed. Of course the geometry could be different but I liked their reasoning and went with it. It's how I set my truck up.

It would take me as much time as you to look it up so that's why I'm leaving it to you....you may not even care anymore since this post is pretty old. Happy seeking.
