    Center Console

Agreed! Very clean. The SSP's typically did not include a center console in favor of the police-style radio holder consoles. I'm a big fan of ex-service vehicles. I've purchased many Crown Victorias over the years from police departments for under $1k and driven them for a long time! As far...

3 years older, a lot of new...

Hello, did you PlastiDip it via spray cans or a spray gun? The finish looks very uniform, so I'm guessing the latter, but just curious. I've never PlastiDip'ed more than my wheels.

    Center Console

That's definitely a Walmart special center console. Was this a police package/fleet Tahoe?

    Service Stability

Indeed this is correct. When I replaced the hubs the sensors came in them. The hubs are not too bad to replace as long as they are not rusted in. Just watch some YouTube videos with some tricks to removing them. I installed these: http://a.co/0BCmRKe They may not be some name brand...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

My brother just gave me a set of those big towing mirrors from his HD Silverado. How do you like them? I'm planning on putting them on my Yukon, but have concerns about parking and someone smacking them because they stick out so much... Any issues?

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I had never heard of those mounts... Thanks for mentioning the brand. I just ordered one to go on the driver side.

    Service Stability

Do you think you could have a bad wheel hub? I have read that they go bad frequently. I replaced my entire suspension up front last month, and replaced the hubs when I did that as a preventative measure.

    Service Stability

That message has plagued me since I bought my 2003 Yukon. Not sure if I've noticed a whining sound from the front end, but I'll listen next time I drive it. I bought some fancy scanner and it had a code C0131 which seems to indicate replacing the computer on the ABS pump. Since I've noticed no...

    paint

+1 to vinyl wrap. I have wrapped several cars and motorcycles. My clearcoat is faded on my roof and hood on my Yukon, so I will likely wrap my Yukon. I have already put a large piece of gloss black on my hood because I was sick of looking at the spots on my hood when I drove. Anyhow, it's...

    Instrument cluster/Transmission shifting-Same Issue??

Piggybacking off that suggestion, also check Craigslist. I found a guy that came to my house, pulled the cluster, COMPLETELY rebuilt it (I had several bad gauges, bulbs out, and shift indicator didn't work), and cleaned it. It looked like a brand new cluster was installed. For $100 it was...

    Best backup camera install

Wow, that is quite impressive for sure! My mistake in design was putting the camera directly in the button and leaving the keyed portion out. No worries, I will hit a junkyard soon and pull another button out to follow your excellent DIY. Thanks for posting it!

    Wiring backup camera NBS?

I have an always-on camera. I ran the power from the dash. I could not find switched power anywhere in the rear compartment. And yes, the reverse light is where you would want to tap it if you want it only on when backing up (I caught my reverse wire off the factory towing harness).

Is it just me, or does the rear wiper kind of suck?

+1 to the worn spring. When I bought my Yukon, the arm was actually missing. I replaced it with one from Amazon for $31. It was a perfect fit. I put a decent blade on it and it cleans the rear window as it should. Here is a link to the arm: http://a.co/1DOFZ5d

    Best backup camera install

Well, I got mine installed, but was not able to figure out how to retain function of the button due to the way it all reassembles (as ivin74 pointed out, it's quite tightly fit together). One other thing to remember as you're installing it is the need to temporarily power it on and mark the...

    Best backup camera install

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and ordered the no guideline model. The PO put dark tint on my Yukon and it is difficult to see out the back. I know that I could remove the tint, but I like the look, so I think I'll wire this to be always on (I have the rear view mirror with the monitor...

    AC blowing warm at idle

I had the same issue and the fan clutch solved it. One way to test if the fan clutch is any good is to roll up a magazine and try to stop the fan with the magazine. If the magazine turns to confetti, I would look elsewhere for the issue (+1 to a blocked condensor). If the magazine stops the...

    Remote entry

If your build sheet says it has remote entry, then you have remote entry. The remotes are super cheap on eBay/Amazon and program very easily. One thing I will mention, however, is that you may need to hold the buttons down for up to a minute or two when programming. I did not do this at first...

Denali front drive train possibly binding? FIXED

Hi Jason, I'm hoping to replace the hubs in the next day or two, so I'll follow up on what (if any) difference they make.

Denali front drive train possibly binding? FIXED

Hi Jason, I have something similar on my 2003 Yukon, except to the left... It happens under moderate acceleration, and as soon as I reach my desired speed and get off the accelerator, the wheel straightens out. It's like severe torque steer. I have replaced all suspension components in the...

Hello, just to confirm that you have projector headlights? I've heard that the LED's do not work well in the normal reflector housings. They definitely look bright!

    catalytic converter help

Hello, are you applying pressure with a scredriver to the catalytic converter and the rattling stops? Could be a few things: - Loose exhaust (check for any exhaust leaks and give the exhaust a wiggle - when it is cool!) - Broken heat shield mount (grab the heat shield and check for movement -...

dash paint is starting to peel

I have the same problem with mine, and ordered the paint/adhesion promoter from Amazon a few days ago after having read the very post that Red Rocket wrote and mentioned above.
