    Service Stability Message

OK, thanks... I figured we were talking about the same thing. Yeah, I've been a ham radio operator for over 30 years now, so I've got done time on a soldering iron [emoji854] If I could only get the darn thing open! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Service Stability Message

By ABS module, do you mean the electronic brake control modulator (EBCM)? I had mentioned replacing that with an Escalade one in my original post, but unfortunately that did not resolve the issue. I had heard about them having bad solder joints (like instrument clusters, rear view mirrors...

    Service Stability Message

Thanks for the hint on the hubs... The Yukon had its original hubs when I bought it (and still had that message). I replaced the hubs because of a concern of the ABS sensors causing the message (and since the truck had 155k), but no change. These do have brake pedal switches, but my brake...

You live in NYC and have a door that will not lock on your vehicle? You, sir, are a brave man.

    Service Stability Message

Hello everyone, Since I have owned my 2003 Yukon (about a year), the Service Stability message comes on the dash. No other lights or messages, and driveability seems unaffected. My car has brand new front hubs (so new front ABS sensors), new rear sensors, new steering wheel position sensor...

whistling/Humming sound at 40mph, only during acceleration

Have you considered the possibility of the intake manifold? I would have bet money that I had a failing bearing (and I'm a pretty accomplished shadetree mechanic). After nearly a year of that sound driving me crazy, I read another member's post about their intake manifold gasket possibly...

Am I the only one who is fairly certain that the head unit in the OP's post came out of a Hyundai?

    P0171 and P0174 CODES

Gun safes are fun to fill but not fun to move! For sure it's a doable project. Be sure to get the proper tool to remove the fuel lines. And I had to Google how to disconnect the fuel injector connectors [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone 7+ using Tapatalk

    P0171 and P0174 CODES

I knew I needed to do it after reading about the codes, but your mention of the squeal possibly being related pushed me to do it immediately. I did it in my garage (with a newly installed ceiling heater [emoji16]) with basic hand tools in a couple of hours. I watched a YouTube video, but it was...

    door lock problems

Sounds like you're going to need to do some further investigating with the door panel removed. There are many linkages held on with plastic clips. Hopefully it's stuck in the unlock position so you can at least open the door. Sent from my iPhone 7+ using Tapatalk

    Upper A-Arm Replacement (!!)

I was wondering after reading this if you wash your car with salt water, but then saw your username... Alberta... Canada? I feel very fortunate to live someplace that so rarely salts the road. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone 7+ using Tapatalk

    P0171 and P0174 CODES

Well I changed everything today... It went very well other than breaking one of the new gaskets (2-part epoxy fixed it). Put it back together and the idle is smoother, exhaust smells far less like unburnt fuel, check engine light has not returned, and squeal seems to be gone! So thankful not...

    P0171 and P0174 CODES

I seem to be having both issues you do... After a long trip to NY, I, too have these two codes and have read about the intake manifold gaskets. What I find more interesting, however, is that I seem to have the same noise as you... To me it almost sounds like an alternator squeal, but it does...

I seem to have fixed my code: P0171 P0174 issue...I guess

I'm interested in this whistle you mention... I have a sound that sounds more to me like an alternator squeal... Only around 2-2300 rpm under light acceleration. I too have those engine codes since it's been very cold. I assumed my squeal was an alternator or something, and have been waiting...

Thanks for the compliment. I use the heck out of that tape when I wrap something... It's great stuff. I have also painted several cars in my lifetime... And then sanded them back down and taken them someplace for paint. I just don't have the skills for painting. Sent from my iPhone 7+...

Thanks a lot. I've wrapped several vehicles. I can tell you the first one didn't come out this good, lol. It just takes patience, practice, and lots of swearing. Sent from my iPhone 7+ using Tapatalk

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Here you go... It's surprisingly difficult to get a decent picture of the roof. The whole truck is actually wrapped. A hint for the roof... Pull all four corners tight (have a helper!) and lay the vinyl down... You can then work the vinyl between the humps in the roof, if that make sense...
