I will say that matte vinyl can be difficult to lay down, especially for a beginner. It is not nearly as forgiving to stretch because it'll actually get a shine to it when stretched. Satin colors are a bit more forgiving, but for sure gloss is the easiest to work with.
I wrapped my roof in...
Hahaha, awesome. Thanks a lot for the offer. I have made this journey a couple of times in this truck already without incident, so hopefully this time will be the same.
I found a guy on Craigslist. $100 and he came to my house, pulled it, resoldered, replaced, and cleaned everything, and reinstalled it. Worth every penny.
My plans for my 2003 Yukon:
1. Drive it 750 miles from SC to upstate NY
2. Pray it doesn't break down along the way
3. Enjoy a white Christmas
4. Drive it 750 miles from upstate NY to SC
5. Pray it doesn't break down along the way
Not the longest list for sure, but I've done enough wrenching...
If you plan on keeping your vehicle, it is totally worth it. Two alignments and has paid for itself. The guy at Firestone told me I could come daily if I want. Obviously I do not do that (although they do have good coffee!), but anytime I raise/lower my Yukon, feel a slight vibration, or if...
Just a suggestion (if you are in the US) so you do not have to debate whether or not to get an alignment... Firestone offers a lifetime alignment. Any time I do suspension work it goes in for an alignment and costs me nothing. I think it was $199, and was money well spent.
Sears offers one...
Yes, I have had very good luck with Vvivid vinyls. The roof and roof rack are wrapped in Vvivid (although the rest of the truck is in Avery because of the color match).
Here's a pic, not necessarily point at the roof/roofrack, but you get the idea... Sorry, I'm traveling this weekend and the...
Sorry, I kept forgetting to do this. It's not very exciting, but here it is shoved down the AC vent. The picture is quite amazing, and the light makes it especially useful. I also like the hook and magnet attachments... They make grabbing a socket that slipped into the depths really easy.
Thanks to all for the replies. I installed the assemblies a little differently this time. I aligned and installed the inboard pin before the outboard one. On both headlight assemblies I could immediately tell they were lined up better with the grille.
I drove to work without blinding anyone...
So I just went out there and removed the headlight assembly and took a closer look at it. When I turned the headlight adjuster (since it's projector, there is only one), the entire assembly rotated, so it was actually doing nothing when I was turning it before. I used a pair of pliers and it...
I have tried the adjuster screws that adjust the headlight beam to try to make it a bit less awful for oncoming drivers, but it does not seem to move the entire headlight assembly. Is there another type of adjustment I should be looking at?
So I have now tried three different types/brands of aftermarket headlight assemblies in my Yukon, and all seem to have the exact same issue... They are not straight. What I mean by that is the entire assembly is crooked (on both sides, but the dirver side seems worse). The pins slide down fine...
I have a 2011 328i and change the gasket every time I change the filter. It is included with the $8 Mann filters I buy off Amazon. Either the dealership is blowing smoke where the sun doesn't shine or it is being misnamed.
Best part about that BMW's oil change? The filter is on the top of...
One other thing... Change your plugs if you haven't recently. And while they're out, use one of those USB endoscopes to look at the inside of the cylinder to be sure there isn't a lot of buildup.
Not sure about the NNBS, but the NBS flex fuel vehicles have a sensor that is crazy expensive (it senses when there is E85 flowing). When the sensor goes out, it can fail to always think there is E85 in the tank. The result is a poorly-running vehicle and a check engine light. This device...
Oh man, I wish I knew that it could have been recalibrated. I dropped some coin on this:

Which I must admit knocked out the light and smoothed out the engine perfectly in 5 minutes.
I'm interested in this project, as well, and bookmarked this link for when I am ready to do it:

Mine is an '03, so things may be a bit different, but maybe this could be a starting point for you?
I saw a post recently (yours? ) about renewing that trim and it came out great. I'm on the fence about vinyl wrapping those rear quarter windows... I keep forgetting to look over my shoulder and see if it would be an obstruction issue. The left passenger window is also scratched, unfortunately...
