Thanks Bowtie! One day I have to see your rig...when I found out about these events, I'll update the forum!!
A cool tidbit, we're going to be one of the Featured Trucks there - Chevy represent!!
I was actually there in June...I'm posting up photos from the trip and trying to keep it in order of places I visited.
When I was traveling, wifi was near impossible, so a lot of the pics/stories had to wait until now.
Thanks Gerry! I think it's about time I show my final cool trick I did to the Tahoe...the switchboard installed :)
I need to take some pics and upload, stay tuned for something this week!
Here are a few more pics of Utah...all Moab region. Moab is AMAZING to wheel and our rigs do really well there...why? Well, they have slick rock and there rocks are huge...essentially large enough for our entire trucks to drive up and down.
This is very different the a trail like the...
When I installed my hyroboost unit earlier this year, I went with the variable delete b/c I couldn't find any other option to go with for hydroboost - I have about 16k miles on my truck as-is.
It's loose and it aggravated me at first bc I like a tight steering wheel (highway is most...
Thanks Elsamurai!
Welcome to the forums, if you ever have any questions about my build or other posts on here...always feel free to ask...this is a laid back community with some pretty smart folks willing to lend advice/ideas.
When you get on a difficult offroad jeep trail and ppl ask, how the heck did you get that monster down here?! Then you look under your truck and there's a small jeep under your 6500lb frame
<<my attempt at humor for the day>>
Moog (Problem Solver series) lowers are really nice...for upper I stuck with AC Delco b/c the cup on the Moog uppers allows a lot of debri to get in. Rock Auto carries both at really nice prices...
Brand new discs, remanufactured GM calipers (look brand new) with parking brake lever built into the caliper + pads...comes with all the hardware to swap drums to discs...including stainless line.
This will definitely fit the 14bsf...not sure on the 10 bolt.
I have the disc brake conversion with parking brake!!! I never used it and would be happy to sell it to you!! I ran out of time installing before I left for my trip so never got around to it....I'm happy w/hydro boost, so i'm leaving the drums after I rebuilt the whole thing.
Hmmm...I could be wrong, but I don't think rear matters with ABS...b/c your rig has the ABS module, I'm not sure how the rear drums could affect that...anyone?
It can be tough to find the 6lug variant...so start looking months in advance!!
For the 14bsf, do you plan on rebuilding it?
There's some misinformation on the web about which 14bsf will fit our rigs...from backing to backing plate, the 57" version will do!
Maybe!! At least for me i'm glad I came across that intel...synthetic lube can be really expensive and it's never fun for things to keep leaking!!
Just a side thought...if by chance its leaking out the same spot each time, maybe there's some warping??

Thanks J-Hawk!
Good luck with the build...if you have any questions or need ideas, feel free to ask and check out the parts I used. I spent a long time researching everything and I can tell you the pros/cons of each part on this rig and how it's held up to constant abuse.
When you build...
Thanks Don...i was searching there yesterday and came up with only some opinions on cost...but I'll check them out again and dig deeper for user experience - thanks!!
it seems like a clever idea...and it would certainly give me more ground clearance...esp b/c of how long the wheel base is on our rigs and how far back the tbars extend.
