My ABS light just came on. Anyone know of any common problems to look for? Or do they just go out and need replacing?

It is most likely a corroded sensor on one of the front hubs. The third sensor is in the rear and not a common issue.

Let me guess, ABS came on at a low speed then the light came on?

If it came on in a parking lot doing a real tight turn, then went out when you straightened it, your bearings are probably bad. But if it's on constantly, the trouble is usually with the front abs sensors. If the light came on, there is a code that can be read.

yes, it came on at low speeds initially and would turn off after driving for a while, but now it just stays on all the time. i will test the sensors and i believe my hypertech chip can read codes, going to check that out as well. Thanks for the tips!

Keep us updated if you can. My 98 door is doing the exact same thing. I tried to remove the bolts that hold the dust shield and sensors on but they wouldn't budge. I even tried with a 500 ft/lb impact rench. No luck. Those bolts are stubborn. Thanks!

Coat those bolts with a penetrating oil over night...then get a six sided socket and go to town with a 1/2" breaker bar if needed.
