Hey guys,
Yesterday I was in Reno for my wife’s doctors appointment and I went to pick up McDonalds for my daughter since she was asking for a happy meal. Anyways when I was in the drive through, when it was time to move up in line, this feeling of going over bumps after I let off the brake to...
Sorry to bring this thread up back from the dead, but this ground solution I shared was not the cause of my reduced engine power problem. It worked for a while, but it eventually came back, especially as it got colder at night during the fall. It’s getting bad now since it has gotten as low as 9...
My 03 Yukon loses about 2 quarts of oil in 4K-5k miles due to a leaking rear main seal. It doesn’t eat oil because I changed the original pcv valve and it was surprisingly pretty clean and not clogged with oil. My rig has 242k miles and I do lots of highway trips since my commute and where I...
Hey everyone. I wanted to make some minor improvements to my tranny keep it running as long as possible. I think it’s the original tranny at 241k miles. I was planning on doing a vette servo and a 4th gear servo, but I was reading about boost valves and seeing the benefit of bumping up line...
it was in really good shape and it did not crack and fall apart on me like the red one I replaced on a previous truck I owned. It has great normal oil pressure with no issues before hand. The problem was is my oil pan gasket was leaking so I replaced the o ring as cheap insurance while I had it...
Hey guys I got around to doing my oil pan gasket today which I think is the culprit to my leak since it was factory and never been changed in 241k miles. I did the oil pump pickup tube o ring too. It was a bluish green one that was in good shape. I replaced with a new red flepro one. Is that a...
For sure I wonder if this solve my tire cupping inside wear problem I am having. I know one of the inner tie rods are shot and there is some play in the pitman arm. But I don’t think those are the culprit.
Hey guys. I found something interesting today. I was checking the front end for play in the suspension items when I was changing the oil and rotating the tires this morning. I was getting some play as of I had a ball joint on the passenger side. I took a closer look and the upper control arm and...
Yes sir that is correct. I do not know if this will work for 2007 and later models having this issues, but it for sure will fix the problem do trucks and suvs from 2003-2007 classic.
I remember reading this last weekend. I kind of forgot about it. Basically if you want the electronics to function properly in these trucks, you better maintain all grounds, do the big 3 at least, and add extra grounds in my case
No problem. This reduced engine power really was bugging me and I was hoping to fix this before it got cold up here in Nevada and it would have given me trouble all winter. I figured since I mastered this electrical issues, I would share with the world and anybody else that googles this problem...
I am sure this topic has beat to death on every GM truck and SUV forum out there in the internet, but I would like to share what I have found to fix the dreaded Reduced Engine Power message. I am sure more and more owners of these vehicles are experience this issue as these vehicles age. I also...
Update: It has been 4 days of 5 am cold starts and not a single issue. It’s running much better now. I am glad I got this issue solved and I did not spend any money.
Update. I added another ground from the stud that the TAC module mounts onto the fire wall and ran it over to the stud where the silver ground strap From the driver side cylinder head connects to. I also added one that goes from that stud and gets grounded to the valve cover. I found a random...
I did that this morning for most of the grounds and added a new one for the silver strap one on the driver side of the engine. I did not get to the trouble some one on the the passenger side. I took a picture of it yesterday. I could not tell if it was bad or not since it was covered in oil. I...
Hey everyone,
I have a 03 Yukon xl 1500 5.3 with the flex fuel motor. So about a month ago I was driving to work and hit a bump on the highway. I got the reduced engine power message on the cluster and pulled over. After about two restarts everything was back to normal and I continued on my...
My wife back in the day used to have an 05 Silverado with the 4.3 v6. It had a random misfire cel flash once getting onto the freeway. Every time after we were done driving the truck, we would notice an air leaking sound like if air was leaking out of an inner tube or something like that. I pin...
okay perfect. That is what I was hoping would be the case. I just think pulling the starter is just a waste of time and effort since that plate can just hang there while the pan is off.
Did you loosen the bolt that attaches the cover to the side of oil pan. I’m sure since that cover has a hole that surrounds the starter you can just let hang loose then reposition when your putting everything back together.
Hey everyone. I have to do my oil pan gasket soon since it has a bad leak on my 2003 Yukon xl 5.3. I have done this before on a Silverado, but the starter side dust cover was missing so I did not have to worry about messing with the starter. Well by the looks of it, it seems like I can just...
That came out really nice. My Yukon xl is literally the exact same as your truck. Like a clone lol. I want to get mine leveled too. The link to your rear lift didn’t work for some reason. I have the zw7 ultra comfort ride suspension which yours probably had too. I was thinking of doing the moog...
