You can lift the carpet to check, but I’d wager that there are no brackets or provisions for a third row as it wasn’t an option until the 2000 GMT800 platform.
It’s been several years, but I do remember reading about people retrofitting a Suburban seat by welding in brackets to the floor pan...
Here’s the wiring diagram from a 98 which shows the crank fuse. And here’s the diagram from 96 which doesn’t, so you might have to verify the wire colors.
Does it start in neutral? Are your gearshift lights solid (not flickering)?
If you have voltage at the 10A crank fuse, see what you’re...
Here’s a thread where someone posted a photo from a 96 canister. Mine is a 98, else I’d take a picture for you.
https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/97-tahoe-sport-evaporative-canister-routing.100012/
Yeah, any 96 or 97 model truck/SUV should fit the bill for the canister. It looks like the hose across the intake can be from any 305 or 350. The one from the fuel tank needs to be from another 4x4- 305, 350 or 454. Not sure why… maybe it has a different bend in it or something.
I hope you...
Here are the GM part numbers, maybe that’ll help in the search. Note that one of the lines (#3) varies for two or four wheel drive. If you’re doing the junkyard, the evap parts changed for 1998 and wouldn’t work in your 97. That third connection may be open - the diagram just shows two lines.
GM has posted a lot of their original documentation online in their Vehicle Information Kits:
https://www.gm.com/heritage/archive/vehicle-information-kits
It’ll have the RPO code breakdowns and may be of interest. Being a base model, odds are higher that it was a fleet sale, so government...
Nope, that’s how it is supposed to work. It’s probably something to do with the power seat base. My 98 truck and Tahoe (both power driver seats) are the same way.
Edit:
From the manual, power seats didn’t have the slide-forward feature like the manual seats.
I’d second car-part as it usually has photos of the salvage vehicles.
The carrier was specific to the two-door but looks to have been the same part used for the K Blazer. Suburban was different - the tire sat in a little tray.
The parts diagrams are here...
I’m not sure if the 2WD had that support bar, but have heard that the horizontal filter adapter was used because of the front driveshaft. Maybe the (long) vertical filter clips the side of the u-joint or something.
It was standard on the base trim. I remember you could get a base trim Cheyenne truck with the Silverado style grille as an option, but don’t know if the Tahoe had that or not.
What brand is the coupler? It’d probably be worth contacting the manufacturer. I’ve read where some people had similar issues with a Cunningham part.
Edelmann gearboxes are new aren’t they? The heavier effort may be the way they do them. Would you buy it again?
The rear sway bar is...
Here’s a forum where some guys were talking about the factory 6.5L that was an option in these. That might be a place to see what others have done. In terms of a direct swap, the 6.5 TD is probably the most straightforward but I’d wager that there are other options with a more custom route...
You might double check that Moog hub - they show it now at $68 instead of $105.
Did you check the LCA type? The ball joints vary for welded/stamped vs forged. My 98 has welded/stamped.
Pressures look good and it doesn’t look like you have a leak. Spark and compression would be next unless it has some codes stored.
Check for spark (and compare quality of each) on all eight, but shotgunning in a Delco distributor cap wouldn’t be a bad idea. I had a bad (new) off brand cap...
Here’s a recent thread on a related forum where some of the tuner names/products were mentioned.
https://www.gmt400.com/threads/newbie-with-a-quick-passlock-question.66702/
My impression is that deleting the program caused no side effects. Knock on wood, I’ve had no issues with it in mine.
Have you run through the P1631 diagnostic in the manual? Here it is for 1998. It may be the 30-minute relearn that you mentioned, in which case the manual appears to just go in a circle if that doesn’t work. It does have some cautions about maintaining battery voltage during the process and...
Here is the diagnostic from the 98 manual. Do you have any exhaust leaks on the passenger exhaust?
If you have a scanner, graph the up and downstream O2 sensor voltages together. The upstream will oscillate (lean to rich) while the downstream should be relatively stable. If it mimics the...
