Help!!!! 1995 Chevy Tahoe 1500 Unable to bleed the brakes

Good luck with it, the soft pedal can be aggravating on these. I edited my post above to ask how the drums looked. It sounds like you’re working on someone else’s vehicle and may not have the history of it, so if they’re out of adjustment then that won’t help the pedal.

Help!!!! 1995 Chevy Tahoe 1500 Unable to bleed the brakes

Here are the pages from the 1995 manual. It sounds like they have a basic scan tool function that activates the system as part of a function test. On my 98, there is a specific menu in a tech2 for ABS bleed. In the pressure brake bleed procedure, note that GM calls for the two pins at the end...

1994 K1500 Blazer fuse box diagrams

On mine (98), the box just plugs in so there isn’t a connector to it. The buzzer in some GM cars (maybe a Camaro or a Caprice, I forget which) has a “calmer” sound and can be used in these trucks. Some people swap them out - something to keep in mind if you look for another one.

1994 K1500 Blazer fuse box diagrams

On the 96+, the buzzer is a box plugged into the convenience center (the panel at the firewall). Not sure about the TBI models. Someone may have just taken it out?

Loose steering, I’ve searched, googled replaced front end parts and multiple steering gears

In my case, yes - deleting a functioning EVO did not change the steering feel. Now when the EVO sensor on the steering shaft was bad (similar to what @Joseph Garcia mentioned) that raised the pucker factor as it would suddenly “catch” as though hitting a patch of ice. When I played the “swap...

Loose steering, I’ve searched, googled replaced front end parts and multiple steering gears

I’m not familiar with the Cunningham steering shaft, but did it include a new rag joint? They’re riveted in at the factory but can be replaced. Check YouTube for videos, but a worn one can impact steering. I’d tend to agree that the gearbox is worth another look. They did use a different box...

1996 Chevy Tahoe 4dr External Amplifier location for radio?

Mine doesn’t have it, but it’s supposed to be under the dash by the steering column. I think it powered the rear doors - the front and headliner speakers coming straight from the head unit.

99 Tahoe had heat lost heat

If you have a good scanner, it may have stored a transmission or transfer case code. I don’t think that those are P#### codes, maybe C#### and won’t necessarily trip a check engine light. The factory manuals would have the diagnostic procedure for each code. Those can be downloaded at this...

99 Tahoe had heat lost heat

The blower switch can be swapped out independent of the panel, but if the connector to it is melted then that needs to be replaced as well. Pull the knob off and the switch is held in by a screw and clips. I’ve not run into having to clock or time the actuators. As for a/c performance, mine...

99 Tahoe had heat lost heat

Still have the old control panel? If this all started with the new panel, then I’d throw the old one back in to compare. I’ll try to minimize my soapbox, but a broken GM part often works better than new stuff brought in from overseas. See if the blend door actuator (behind the ashtray) is...

Hey, how are these Cunningham rollers holding up? I’m thinking of ordering some soon.

    Starter issues

Looking at the photos those “look” to be the right length bolts. I have read where people unknowingly used the long ones that came with some direct drive starters and had to use spacers/washers to make up the gap. You’d know if you had those when trying a gear reduction starter - the threads...

In case you haven’t seen them, this OTC 6509 worked pretty well on my 98. The end is narrower and gives you better clearance to get the lines off. These two styles made me cuss and want to resort to violence…

New fuel pump, fuel filter, and starter. Still not starting

B-train mentioned distributor caps. I’ve had one (new, actually) that failed. The spark on the particular cylinder was there, but was weak compared to the others. Delco caps used to be the ones to go with but that’s been a few years now. Did the fuel pressure hold within a few pounds after...

    Starter issues

So you have two new starters? When bench testing, did the gear come out smoothly or did it bounce a little back and forth? How does the solenoid wire from the ignition look? Could you have a weak connection there? Is the ring terminal good? I think I’ve broken two terminals over the years by...

New fuel pump, fuel filter, and starter. Still not starting

Assuming you have good spark (do you have a spark tester?), a fuel pressure test would probably be in order. Spec is 60-66 psi with key on, engine off. Watch to see if it drops when the key is turned off. If you have a scanner, see what the engine coolant temperature sensor is reading. This...

    Steering parts

Agreed, I’ve had no complaints with Moog Problem Solver. They may make a lower tier line, so the problem solver is the one you’d want. As for a steering box, Redhead and Bluetop tend to get good reviews. I’ve used both with no issue. They’re remanufactured in one of the Dakotas I think. Any...

1999 Yukon SLT 4 door water leak

The plastic cowl trim piece (that goes under the wiper arms) is attached with self tapping screws. One of them goes straight into the blower intake and is a common leak point. It’s been a while, but it’s either the screw on the smaller end piece or the screw on the end of the long piece next...
