    Long tube headers

The primary tube length, diameter and collector diameter are the biggest determining factors with the order being primary tube diameter, collector diameter and then primary tube length (this is what "tuned" primaries means). I have read that a merge spike in the collector helps for scattering...

    I don't like this noise...

Is it a whining noise almost like a "old school" roots supercharger? (This would be a common torque converter sound) A whirring could be pump/converter/front differential related. Do you notice any difference in how the transmission shifts?

    Oil tube o-ring

A high pressure pump might bring your motor from 5 psi up to 10 or 15 psi (let's say it brings it to 30, which wouldn't happen). Your oil pressure light only comes on at 5 psi or below if my memory serves me correctly. Just because your gauge is reading 30 psi, it doesn't do anything more than...

    Oil tube o-ring

I'd put in a high pressure melling pump to make yourself feel good about your beat motor... It will make you feel good seeing the oil pressure in it's proper location even though it won't be doing anything.

    Suspension Lift and Spacers?

Truck looked awesome at 6".. I see it's a real monster now! Probably the biggest one in this body style I can think of. I'd love to do a solid axle and lift the truck even higher (I am not a big body lift fan because GM trucks already show enough frame). However, this truck is my wife's daily...

    Best wheel hub assembly??

I bought El cheapo advance Auto hub assemblies for the Tahoe... 4 years and 50k miles on 35" tires and everything is fine... My 2500HD got Timkens.

    Suspension Lift and Spacers?

It definitely could. I'm not worried about rear positioning forward and backward (although spohn's adjustable control arms would fix this). My concern is the rear physically sits further to the driver's side due to the geometry of the panhard bar changing.

    Suspension Lift and Spacers?

The portion of gray plastic between the door and fender is trimmed "hollow" so it allows for clearance but still physically looks stock. I do get the slightest bit of rubbing still at full turn between the rear portion of the front inner wheel well/fender area.

    Oil tube o-ring

At 330k it probably needs a motor lol. It's a lot of work to do a pump or o-ring just to find out it's not the problem.

    Suspension Lift and Spacers?

So I finally got around to doing the spacers and reindexing the keys. Truck now sits at 44.25" to the wheel well on fresh 315/70/17s. Its now at that awkward height that I have to hop to get into the truck lol... I can get away without extending the brake line (if I do anything I'll extend the...

    Just a quick question

Oh I always just called it the alignment came. Shouldn't be too expensive as long as the control arm bolts aren't seized.

    Shake and steering problem

My wife's truck randomly gets that super soft power steering feel to it. No idea what causes it because it's very random; perhaps the pump or the rack? It sounds like they've checked out anything related to a shake other than a balancing issue or the steering stabilizer.

Driver seat is trying to kill me

If you're the only person that drives the truck why don't you just disconnect the motor? I never move my seats in anything unless my wife or the guys at work drove it last. I always have the seat all the way back so I can fit.

    Intermittent SERVICE 4WD Message

Yes... It's a common issue for these trucks with the autotrac to have an issue with the circuit board. Buy it from a parts store with a long return duration and test it out for a few days lol

    Intermittent SERVICE 4WD Message

I bet it's the 4wd control switch on the dash. My wife's truck had the same issue. Be careful, it can get stuck in any combination of those settings! Only other known issue with these autotrac transfer cases is they do occasionally have an issue where the internals rub a hole through the...

    Best $150 mods

I've been very happy with XenonHIDs. They have lasted 6-12 cycles a night from low beams to high beams for the past 3 years. (I have the HIDs in the high beam lenses). I'd be willing to try LEDs in the fog lights if that's a good idea.

I thought the LED bulbs were just a scam compared to HID lights... Do I just live under a rock or have they come leaps and bounds in the past three or four years?

    04 6.0 oil pressure fluctuations

It looks like your pressure is fluctuating by like 3 PSI... I'd think it's just the stepper motor. I've never noticed that happening. If the o-ring was to somehow tear, you'd have zero or very little oil pressure. If the pump was dead, you'd have no oil pressure. If you had very low oil...

Got a great deal on tires, thought I'd share.

Not to hijack this thread but to piggyback off it... These are the mud tire version of the all terrains Big Daddy mentioned. I'm content for the price. I might even buy a set for my beater truck.

    Best $150 mods

I remember in highschool all the clowns had HID lights and everyday they would have to wait for them to stop flickering. It made me never want HIDs. Well fast forward... I bought smoked out headlights for my wife's Tahoe. The high beams were terrible afterwards. I was basically forced to switch...

    Custom or heavy duty

Please don't spray your entire truck with bed liner... I did that to a 1997 K1500 I had and immediately regretted doing it. The mud and dirt is impossible to wash off.

Got a great deal on tires, thought I'd share.

I just put a set of 315/70/17 Ironman All Country MT on my wife's truck for $760 out the door mounted and balanced. Quiet tire but very soft feeling and you can feel how heavy they are when stopping. I'm impressed for the price. Doubt I'll get more than 20k miles because they are very soft...

    04 6.0 oil pressure fluctuations

Seriously... I've never seen one fail. They break upon removal occasionally but that's it.
