In 2004? are you sure? I'm 99% sure the 6l80 is only 09 and up.

    AFM Disable Options

you need to buy the credits no matter if its used or new. Unless the used one had a full unlock of the year/model vehicle.

Installed resistors to get rid of Service Suspension message after removing Autoride.

If you pull the fuses for any part of the autoride it will throw the message up on the DIC. If the suspension control module above the spare tire gets compromised (like my 08 did) it will short out internally and if you're lucky it will only throw up the message. My hoe almost went up in smoke...

09 Yukon 6L80 TC shudder every 20k miles

I'm new to the 6l80 but from what Ive read so far rumble strip is the torque converter slipping. A good tuner may be able to fix it with just a tune. I would find another mechanic. Just because they have been "rebuilding transmissions for 30 years" doesn't mean they know what they are doing.

    Anyone ever get this message?

Go to the dealer and push the onstar button and ask for a diagnostic. Probably net a quicker result.

    Lifted Tahoe project/daily driver

Spacers are going to end up causing you more issues than they are worth and can be dangerous. Either run it as is or get different offset rims.

Steering Wheel Locked and No Start

Started the truck with the remote start, unlocked and got in the truck, foot on brake push ignition button and crank on wheel. With a loud pop it let go.

Steering Wheel Locked and No Start

Im here because my father's 2022 did this yesterday. Just wanted to say you're not crazy or living under a rock. All these people saying "it's been like this for 20 years" have no clue what you're talking about. This is an insanely stupid oversight on GM. If it was my truck that column lock...

    Lost one, Found another

I could have bought it back for 2k, they gave me 5. there was some fender and rocker rust so i figured id cut my losses. ended up with a much more solid vehicle. I'm in Maine so i doubt it'll end up in Cali but never know.

    Lost one, Found another

Hit a moose a few weeks ago. No major damage, still drove straight and true. Had to hammer the fender forward to allow the door to open but it never damaged the door. Two airbag sensors and the rollover sensor were tripped but the bags never went off. Airbag light was on after the hit. The...

    Problem going backwards

Check make sure your brake calipers are all bolted in. I've seen calipers lose a bolt and wedge into the rim but only in one direction.

    Upgrade package - exhaust/suspension/wheels

The mpvi3 from HP tuners is $400. The license for my 08 hoe was $100 (different for each generation). I not only shut off AFM but can modify hundreds of other settings for less than this waste of money.

4 wheel drive or 2? Sounds like something in the rear end or maybe in the transfer case if it's 4wd

    Probably need new O2 sensors?

Thanks for the part numbers, saves me some digging. I have heard before to only use OEM, should I get them from the dealer or are the OEM Delco ones on rock auto ok?

    Probably need new O2 sensors?

I have a clamp on the passenger side but I gave up on the driver side, couldn't fit my hands between the firewall. Debating whether or not I want to tackle manifold bolts this weekend. New arp bolts and fel pro gaskets should be here tomorrow. Gonna order some o2's for next weekend.

    Probably need new O2 sensors?

Threw these codes yesterday 5 minutes or so after a cold start. I have a manifold leak so I'm guessing the sensors are probably on their way since it's been running rich. Don't mind the body control code. Working on the oil pressure code, new pickup tube o-ring going in this weekend.

Interior lights not coming on with opening door

So if we're on the same page.... 1) You open a door and all the dome lights come on. While the door is open and the lights are on, you push one of the buttons for the map lights on the overhead console and that one map light goes off. 2) While the door is shut and you're sitting in the seat...

    4L60 Types and Differences

Thanks for the information. The transmission in the Tahoe now is still behaving good I just want to swap in a working transmission when this one goes. I'd rather not have to leave the truck on the lift while I rebuild it's trans.

    4L60 Types and Differences

I'm looking to rebuild a 4l60 for my 08 tahoe and i was wondering what the differences are between all the different years. I have two that were behind a 97 and a 98 both 305's, i know the bellhousing is different. I'm just curious how different they are and if i could rebuild and older one with...
