Just to wrap this up, it was the electronic suspension control module. It stunk like burnt electronics and after I unplugged it the truck started and ran normal again.
I cut the module open and found water inside the main power connection, INSIDE the module, and was shorted and burnt where the...
I read a lot about the problems people had. I experienced none. I installed everything from the USB stick that came with the nano, in the correct order, and it worked flawlessly on both win 7 and 10. I think most issues are with the driver install, which is where the order you install the...
Yup already have. Tried a spare ecm also. Both plugs on ecm were bone dry. Pulled the tape and loom off and blew the dust out but no water. I'm still at a loss how water got in the fuse box and no where else but that's nature I guess.
I dried the fuse box out and tried another fuse box cartridge altogether and no change. I'm going to check the suspension module next chance I get, maybe in the morning.
2 inches of rain in 2 days I guess, big puddles? Really not sure how water got under the fuse box. I cleaned out the board it wasn't that bad really just surface corrosion, I've seen much worse. I'm worried about what may have been exposed to voltage it shouldn't have. I think everything fused...
Speaking of the splice pack, I found the main can bus splice pack with the white comb that has 2 rows of 5 or 6 pins. I also found a splice pack not far from the first with 4 green wires and a green comb. Anyone know what this 4 wire splice pack is for? I couldn't find it in the schematics but I...
So last August I had a weird electrical issue that I thought was a fluke. Turns out it's back. Last August as I was sitting at the drive thru window my dash started doing the lost comms dance. Service abs, taction control, 4wd, etc, service the world. The truck sat in my garage for a week while...
That's a good list, I'm gonna steal it, I was also thinking of bumping the entire charge table up a half a volt or so. You figure out how to do that cause I haven't yet.
Oh ya I'm still on page one with hpt also. Figured out the standalone data logging and just been taking logs until I have time to sit down and go through the software. I was skeptical when I bought it but it's definitely worth the $400 especially that the pro features are now built into the...
This is why right to repair is such a big deal. If 3rd parties could diagnose and fix these issues we wouldn't have to wait on GM to never do anything. Of course what does GM care they have your money already... I got a knock off tech2 a few months ago and I just got my MPVI3 from HP Tuners...
I had the exact same model. Problem with that cheap design, when the 120v power is disconnected the battery its attached to back feeds and powers the charger leaving the leds on. Not a big deal if its overnight but 2 or 3 days at -20f and your battery is toast. Schumacher isn't as good as they...
I second this. I have owned two (first was plugged in when lightning hit the house) and they both performed great. Don't remember the specs but it was around 7 amps max current and it was a "7 step" smart charger that did de-sulfation automatically or you could force it, model was Multi US7002...
Engine hour meter can be reset by the user. For reference, my 2008 had 198k when I bought it in August. Backwoods dealer, window sticker was 11k, I paid $9700, he took another $300 off because the rear ac had a leaking line. I used a block off kit I'll fix it later.
