Good suggestion.
I went with an aftermarket open air filter so doesn't apply here, but I'm sure some will see this and go out and look to be sure theirs is ok.
I stuck mine in several large sized commercial trash bags. Obviously won't help with mice, but you might just get a plastic bin you put them in there to keep mice out. Can't close lid, but it's better than nothing.
Sounds like a battery issue. It takes a lot of power to start a car but very little to unlock it.
Not sure when you had your battery checked but you may try it again. Also check your connections and see if there is any corrosion and get it off if so.
Don't remember the specifics but if you have OnStar or BOSE you can use a cable with them.
Or get a new headunit. I have a new headunit and stupidly put in an aux port even though my headunit has bluetooth.
He's had quite the career. Hopefully his new position is working out for him. I wouldn't mind working on PPO packages. Would be fun to drop Tahoe's all day.
Way more than necessary. If you could ask for a day off you'd be way better off. May take you all day, but it will only cost you some time and about 50 in parts.
It really depends on your area's labor price and where you go. I'd say approximately 3-500. The labor is what will kill you because of...
If you are sure it's metal noise then ignore my post. If not you may check the weather stripping at the top. My rear driver door squeaks like crazy because of the door rubbing the weather stripping.
There are several custom consoles on here you'll just have to go search for them. Can't think of any topics in particular right now.
I've seen tons of things done with the consoles from top to bottom though.
No, never done it. Not too much of a reason with these trucks. The tranny and engine last a good long time so 170k vs 153k isn't much of a difference in my eyes. Once over 100k it's all the same really.
I've never read of anyone else on the forums doing it and I keep up with most of the posts...
Hard to say.
As far as the shop it sounds like he really didn't want to look for it. His and yours are different rides so that's not fair to say.
You may try going to another shop or just see if you can lay in the back seat and stick your head out the door and just listen as someone drives. Try...
What about something like these? Just take them on and off when you need them. While it is a tow mirror it's the only way I can think for you to extend and not get full on tow mirrors.
I think if you get the measurements down it wouldn't be too hard. And if you mess it up just heat and bend again.
Could be nice to have a more custom look to it as well.
I went through 10 years of ownership on my 04 Tahoe before I figured it out. Young kid at a car wash told me about them. Spent all that time folding them in by hand when going into the garage.
