What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The first few things of a very long list. Replaced the rear drums in their entirety. (That was interesting). Got rid of the OBS Master Cylinder and got a 2002 one for a firmer brake pedal. Upper and Lower ball joints, upper control arms and all the bushings, both side. Removed the molding on...

I found I'll give that a shot tonight. Might be why the 4WD isn't working as well. Two birds with one stone..

    Differential flange loose?

Hi guys, I took the plunge. I did the upper control arms on both as a complete set, and did the lower ball joints and bushings on the Yukon. I'm gonna restore this baby. But I have a problem. When I did the Drivers side- when I reconnected the axle to the differential flange, it was tight...

98 Yukon transfer case fill plug

It looks like I might not have to deal with it. I had replaced the u joints last week because of a terrible clicking sound and that sound still remains after replacing the joints. I had the rear wheels up in the air to check the brakes and spun the tire and I could still hear the clicking but...

    1998 Yukon- Replacing control arms

How did it go? Have you done it yet? I'm about to- and to be honest, I'm reading how bad of a job it is to get the bushings out with the lower control arms. I might wait until I can get a set of 4wd lowers. Anyone know of where to get em? I can't believe they dont see a LCA set with joints and...

Hey all- Total newb here with ujoints. Don't laugh. Ok, laugh but help me =) So I bought an impact wrench and rented a ball joint press to do both rear driveshaft ujoints on the yukon. Love that truck. Ok, so I pull the driveshaft out- no problem. I got out all the ujoints in record time...

    98 Yukon 4wd

More info.. I replaced the 4wd push buttons and the short to that is gone. There was some damage to the back of the unit somehow. I put it on jack stands and put it in 4hi. It appeared to work, but only the rear wheels spin. So the button stays lit on 4hi but it doesn't actually go into 4wd...

Lucky. Took off the dash and checked the switch. When I hit the wires the light came on! So I got it to where it stayed on and cycled through 2 and 4 hi. Seems to work. I think the switch is bad and I've ordered a new one. For anyone who stumbles across this, check your connections =) And to...

    98 Yukon- No 4wd light

Hi folks, Currently in the process of restoring the most important feature of the vehicle for me- the 4WD. It failed me during an elk hunt in the winter, and I had to pay for a recovery. Apparently I did something right this year, and got picked for the same hunt. I'm really going to need this...

Hi folks, My first attempt. And I'm trying to find decent lower control arms with ball joints and bushings already installed. I'm going with Moog uppers- apparently they don't make lower for 4wd.. Any opinions? Thanks in advance!

    98 Yukon- Carpet replacement

Good day all! So, I'm restoring the Yukon to it's former glory. Two things I've never done: Rip up all the carpet and put down a rubber mat. Do they make a 'kit' for our OBS models? Is there something I can buy after I rip up the carpet and just place down? Two: Replace the AC Compressor...

1998 Yukon Rear Dif Oil Change

Hey all, I'm hearing that the Mobile 1 Symthetic 75-90w is ok to put in the rear differential, regardless of whether or not you have a G80. (At this point I don't know if I have one or not) They sell it everywhere- safe enough to use? Thanks!
