You can clear 33s no problem. I have 275/70r18s (33.2") with keys and rear z71 springs with no issues. They cleared on my friends sierra at stock height although I am sure they would rub off road at stock height.
Cranking the keys wont make the ride stiffer. That is one thing I had to learn from other people on this forum. The reason ride quality suffers is if you go too far and the upper control arms run out of travel. There are bump stops on the frame that the suspension will top out on if you crank...
I use a straight hitch (no drop or rise) on my 05 when im pulling my boat and I have z71 springs and taller tires. An inch or so rise doesn't seem to be unreasonable.
If refrigerant makes the system work for a short period of time, it sounds like the compressor is good. The bad news is you have a substantial leak somewhere. Did the shop give any indication of where the leak is?
Mine was not just the mirror portion. The DDM would work properly for a little while and I drove the truck it would slowly lose function of everything in the driver door. It is not exactly like yours is.
I posted a while back about having issues getting mine to work on my 05. It was a bad DDM. It really is plug and play. Mine would work for a short period of time and then the DDM shut off completely. Got a different DDM and it has worked properly for months.
I know I will still need the stepper motor and needle. I thought in an 05 you had to buy an eeprom programmer to activate it. Thread I am referencing is here:

I switched to synthetic on my 05 Tahoe with 180k and something on the back of the motor has started leaking. I believe it to be the rear main, but I am not 100% sure. I am not blaming the synthetic oil for the leak, but it can find weak points.
I could be wrong about this, but I believe the OLM...
You can use a diode between your low beam relay and fog relay so that the fogs come on with the low beams. I also added a diode between my low beams and high beams. When I turn on my high beam lights, the lows and fogs stay on. You will see others refer to it as the 4hi or 6hi mod.
Thanks!
I miss having something manual and everything I have done to the Tahoe has been cosmetic or comfort related. Haven't turned wrenches much lately other than doing a front seal on an Expedition trans. Time to actually build something!
Ouch! Glad the block is alright. I have been looking for an RCSB to build because I don't want to mess with my Tahoe (need to keep one reliable vehicle), but now I am questioning whether I want to punish myself like you have! Haha.
Haven't done anything since I put my lights in. I need to get started on my interior lights. Yours came out great @05Single! I have bulbs to do mine in white. Need to get the gauge face without blue tint and I will be ready to go...
Stick to AC Delco plugs. No reason to go to NGK plugs on a Chevrolet.
I have newer 18" wheels with 275/70r18 KO2s and have been happy with them so far!
I have a Kenwood DMX906S with wireless android auto and carplay. I have never used the wireless carplay, however the wireless android auto has been great. I have never had a touchscreen Pioneer, only Kenwoods so it is hard for me to compare.
Nice! I never could bring myself to fork over the money for a JL amp. My Saturn (commuter/got me through college) has a Kenwood Excelon X500-1 and an X301-4 and the Tahoe has the 5 channel version. It is an X801-5.
