Onebad1983's 02 NBS Tahoe Slow Build

I am a huge fan of my cloth seats. I honestly think that they are more comfortable than the leather seats and I have been in quite a few of these trucks with leather. I'm jealous of that 02s cloth seats with the full center console. I have the center seat. As nice as that red z71 looks, I...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Just be careful. Not sure what state you are in, but 35% is the legal limit here in NC. I technically could be ticketed for mine.

DMX906S - Pretty impressed with this radio. Wireless android auto is GREAT! Backup Camera Flushmount USB port Kenwood X801-5 (Dont mind the speaker wire for the sub. That's temporary). Also, I know the amp is backwards. Not all of the wiring will reach with the amp the right way. Its in...

How do I clean up and restore the finish on my running boards ?

I used forever black trim dye on mine. Good stuff so far... Not slick and it is easy to apply. Just as a warning, do not use the foam brush that is included. You need something more like a wax applicator pad. Otherwise you can see the streaks from the brush strokes.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I need to take some pictures, but I have done quite a bit in the last month or so. Installed a Kenwood DMX906S headunit (I posted about this somewhere, but I don't think I posted any pictures yet. Installed my Kenwood X801-5 5 channel amp Added a backup camera Added a flush mount dual USB...

    Mobil 1 Truck & SUV

I bought a bunch of the Shell Rotella Gas Truck oil. Looks like the rebate is over now, but before the end of 2019 you could get $10 back per 5qt jug. After the rebate it worked out to like $12 per 5qt jug. I bought 4 for my Tahoe and 4 for my Saturn Vue that is my daily driver. Haven't used any...

    Can't wait till spring

Nice! I just did mine (along with some wetsanding) with my trusty harbor freight DA that I have had for years. I'll upgrade when it dies, but it just won't die! Plan is to ceramic coat it after I get the hood and a few other small spots touched up. It's a lot of work, but it is worth it! What...

Looking for Used 3" Lifts for my 2001 Tahoe

Looks sharp! With 33" tires, yours will sit very similar to mine. Should be right around 39". Personally, I don't like those factory wheels. If I was going to keep a stock rim from that era, it would be the z71 snowflake wheels or the LT 5 spokes. Both 17" wheels. Out of all of the GM wheels...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The cluster is incandescent bulbs. My dad had ours apart years ago to replace the stepper motors. The DIC and shift indicatiors are separate screens. Cant't change the backlight on those. So did you do the cluster or did you have somebody else do it? *I see now you said that you didn't do the...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I really want to do this on mine. Probably going to order a clear/white cluster background with trans temp and add the gauge while I'm in there. I want to do white LEDs and it sounds like just the cluster has the blue film. Is that correct?

    Lookee Lookee at this Silverado

If you look real close, it has a Duramax badge on the driver door. Thats a 2500HD. I bet it pulled it alright.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well it has to be a programming issue. Put the old switch in and everything came back to life. Reinstalled the power fold switch and everything works until I cycle the key a few times and it shuts down. I will have access to another power fold switch over the weekend and I'll try that to make...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I know there are threads out there about this, but I can't find the answer to the exact problem I'm having. I added some signal mirrors to my Tahoe a few weeks ago and recently got the master switch for power fold. I put the power fold switch in and everything worked last night. Now this morning...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Nice! Definitely jealous, but I am too cheap to spend that kind of money on floor mats. I made my own cargo liner. Went to Lowes and got a $25 utility mat and cut it to fit. I even have the other couple feet of the mat to lay on the back of the seats if I'm hauling something. Wish I had it...

    2003 Suburban Speaker Upgrade

Both front and rear doors take 6.5" speakers at least on a non-Bose truck. I believe it is worth putting component speakers up front and a coaxial speaker in the rear. As far as specific speakers go, I run pretty much all JL Audio. I have C1-650 components in my daily driver car and I plan to...

Looking for Used 3" Lifts for my 2001 Tahoe

My guess is the hill affected the measurements because your tahoe didnt look level in the first picture you posted. It is also possible (and likely) that the rear has sagged over the years. Mine was 36" in the rear. Looked at available sizes for ko2s and I dont see a 275 width tire that would...

Looking for Used 3" Lifts for my 2001 Tahoe

I found my original measurements. Stock height with 265/70r16s my fender heights were 34 3/4" front and 36" rear. Now it sits at 38 1/2" front and ~39 1/4" in the rear. The tires account for 1 1/4" of that, so I gained 2" in the rear and 2 1/2" up front. Thats about the limit for just keys. I...

Looking for Used 3" Lifts for my 2001 Tahoe

Offset makes a much bigger difference than wheel width. Mine are 18x8.5 +24 offset. They are factory 2016+ z71 wheels and I have 275/70r18 BFG KO2s. You could definitely fit a 285 width tire on that rim, but 285s are generally more expensive with an 18" rim. If you're keeping the 16s, 285/75r16...

Which rear brakes and rotors to buy?

I can't think of any reason why brake parts would "go bad" but for as long as rear brakes last, I'd spend the $18. That way if anything goes wrong, the parts are under warranty.

Which rear brakes and rotors to buy?

Monroe is definitely not my "go to" brand for brake parts. Really for anything anymore. Had bad luck with Monroe struts on my commuter car and had to take it apart multiple times with an alignment each time. Some people may have had a different experience than I did.
